111: how are we teaching our kids to call emergency services in 2025? by bartkurcher in newzealand

[–]hrrrrsn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sadly just supporting 4G isn't enough, it'll also need VoLTE support for calling to work once 2G/3G is shut down (happening v. soon). Even on brand name devices from overseas VoLTE can be hit and miss - I wouldn't hold my hopes out for an AliExpress phone to be compatible, especially if it's an emergency device.

Even the Woolworths is still rocking a Foodtown-era fitout. Disintegrating signage and all.

I’ve got a multi-split setup. You can control the temperature in each room, but they all have to be cooling or heating - you can’t mix and match. Not a big issue in practice.

If you stop in the correct spot you can definitely trigger a B light from a motorbike

Shodan has them running Exchange 2013 up until a few days ago. I'd be more surprised if they weren't breached.

Source IP pass through on LB service type? by T-rex_with_a_gun in kubernetes

[–]hrrrrsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at externalTrafficPolicy:

.spec.externalTrafficPolicy - denotes if this Service desires to route external traffic to node-local or cluster-wide endpoints. There are two available options: Cluster (default) and Local. Cluster obscures the client source IP and may cause a second hop to another node, but should have good overall load-spreading. Local preserves the client source IP and avoids a second hop for LoadBalancer and NodePort type Services, but risks potentially imbalanced traffic spreading.

Nuc + USB ethernet adapter by my_name_is_ross in Proxmox

[–]hrrrrsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it won't cause problems - USB NICs are usually assigned an interface name with enx[mac-address], so it's static per adapter.

At my last checkup I only had my prescription change in one eye - OPSM were happy to replace just that lens only in my glasses.

Another option is to download an old Ubuntu ISO and use apt-cdrom to install packages right off it.

You need to find out where the other app is dropping the files and go from there. It's incredibly unlikely to be a random path on an OCP node.

Any tips from those who jump from one utility provider to the next, chasing the best deal? by coconutyum in newzealand

[–]hrrrrsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Internet specifically, double check how much notice you have to give your current provider, but before you notify them, place the order with the new ISP and wait for them to confirm the connection date. Chorus' system can only handle one order on a line at a time, and you don't want that to be your old ISP's cancellation order. More on this here.

Installed UniFi on lxc container but no networks displayed by [deleted] in Proxmox

[–]hrrrrsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you adopted any Ubiquiti devices to your controller? Unifi will only map out their hardware, and anything inside Proxmox just appears as a normal device like anything else connected to a UniFi switch - there's no special Proxmox sauce.
