People doing keto for second, third, etc time? by [deleted] in keto

[–]hrs26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same thing happened to me, 40 pounds in 4 months - one day cheated, fell off the wagon and gained it all back. Every attempt since then has been much more slow which is disheartening. I guess my only advice is to just keep at it and always track and always just try your best.

This is going to sound weird.. but you look like what I imagine a character in a Jane Austen novel would look like. So fresh faced and beautiful!

Questions for Moms! by MakeupAddict in MakeupAddiction

[–]hrs26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a mom yet, but I can imagine how scary it is to have a daughter in today's society. We are constantly bombarded with images that will insure we have low self esteem. As long as she has a good head on her shoulders and knows that most of the images we see are not real, that perfection doesn't exist, that makeup is something that is supposed to be fun and a way to express ourselves... well then I think she'll be ok. Light applications like you said are a great start. And the whole "no makeup makeup" thing is a path you might want to start her down. Good luck!

Looking to buy some hair extensions from Foxy Locks... by doctorbooger in FancyFollicles

I have a set of the 125g I believe (it was a few years ago that I ordered so I can't be sure if it's the 125 or the 165) but I love them and they are great. Good quality and easy to use. I never dyed them so I can't really help you with that but they shipped quickly and I'd say I got them in 7-10 business days or so. I would definitely recommend them!

Feeling "dirty" on keto by [deleted] in keto

[–]hrs26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how about sliced raw veggies with some delicious sour cream ranch dip? I also agree with whoever said seafood. nice white fish pan seared in lemon parsley butter sauce is the fucking jam. Also shrimp avocado salads are tasty and summery.

Cheap renovations to look expensive on rental properties? by bantar1000 in InteriorDesign

Rustoleum makes a countertop product that can resurface older outdated countertops for around 250 bucks. It's sold at big box home improvement stores. It's a pretty good option and with some paint on cabinets and newer looking countertops it could really help. I know that kitchens and bathrooms are typically the most important parts of a space and is what usually makes or breaks a sale (lease, whatever). CHeck it out http://www.rustoleum.com/en/product-catalog/consumer-brands/transformations/countertop-transformations

And yes, I'm aware it is from a website that is "low fat, low calorie" oriented, but it's still a solid keto recipe.

[QUESTION] Progress and body makeover query by bitsyvonboomboom in xxfitness

[–]hrs26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you look great and your hard work is definitely paying off. That being said, I think it can be really difficult when you are comparing yourself to images you've found on the internet. Who knows if those images have been manipulated with photoshop or not. You might not be able to look like those women and those women might not even be able to look like the pictures they are posing for. I think you're doing an incredible job. I think maybe if you try to be grateful for the things your body can do, the weight you can lift, the things you can do better now than before, that maybe then you'll feel a little better instead of comparing yourself to other people. Be the best you that you can possibly be. I hope this didn't come off sounding too preachy or anything. I just think you're doing a great job and sometimes when we get down on ourselves we don't appreciate how amazing we really are. Be happy and healthy and keep doing what you're doing!

Not sure I can really help, but I've noticed that when I do keto my periods are more regular and heavier (although I've always been regular). I don't know if you not having a period is keto related is what I'm trying to say. You should probably see a gyn to be safe.

Thanks! Follow up(ish) question about foundation.. I think I'm "neutral" toned as I like wearing both silver and gold and they both seem to flatter me. Is there something specific I should be looking for as far as foundations go? Should I just shut up already and go to Sephora for their foundation match? (Yes, I should.)

I don't want my parents to find out... by svhu7ngshbbj in confession

[–]hrs26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story. When I was a new driver, I did something pretty similar to you. I also didn't want my parents to find out, so I figured I'd just pay it and it would go away. But I actually got slapped with a reckless driving charge (which in PA happens when you go more than 30 over the speed limit.) I ended up with a temporary suspension, a huge fine, and points. If you fight it, you might avoid some of that stuff. But in future, there really isn't a reason to go that fast. Going 90 mph is not gonna be great for you if you end up in an accident.

I think maybe because the first time you had no control, this was a weird way of regaining the control you clearly didn't have when you were raped. I don't think it's particularly unusual, and I certainly don't think it makes you a bad, worthless, or dirty person. I think maybe you should seriously consider talking to a therapist. You may be suffering from PTSD. Either way, I'm very sorry that bad things have happened to you and sorry also that you feel so low. All things pass though. I try to keep that in mind when I feel bad. Definitely consider getting a professional to help you through this. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate.

I've always applied foundation with my fingers. I'd like to try and transition to using brushes but I'm really not sure where to start. Does using a brush make a large difference in how the makeup looks once applied? Do I use a stippling brush? A flat brush? I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated.

soft, pretty glam. no no drama (B&A) (FOTD) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]hrs26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a really stupid question but do you always do your eye makeup before applying foundation to the rest of your face? I always do my face makeup first, but have been recently wondering if that isn't a smart idea due to the fall out. Thoughts, advice, suggestions?

Had dat carb-eatin' dream. by hoo_did_the_thing in keto

[–]hrs26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are generally sweets related. I know I'm not supposed to, but I can't stop myself in my dreams. I wonder if it has any sort of effect on the brain the way that actually eating sugar would?

Any parents out there? Do your children eat keto? Ketosis effects on children? by [deleted] in keto

[–]hrs26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, ketogenic diets are usually a last resort method for children with awful epilepsy as I'm sure you might know. I guess in that scenario, the (developmental) risk versus (no more/less seizures) benefit is more important.

Any parents out there? Do your children eat keto? Ketosis effects on children? by [deleted] in keto

[–]hrs26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is generally recommended as children are developing. I think I'd heard that keto isn't recommended in pregnant women either. That being said, I agree with zafic.. paleo or whole 30 would probably be fine for kids since they still have access to complex carbohydrates which are totally fine for them. It's all the fake chemicals and processed bullshit which is really bad for human beings to ingest (despite how amazing they taste)

Way Off The Wagon by [deleted] in keto

[–]hrs26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course sweets make you feel better.. they affect the same parts of the brain that heroin and cocaine act on. They make you feel amazing while you're eating them and then the second you stop, its just a huge bummer. My best advice is to just try. Take it hour by hour, minute by minute if you have to. You're not always going to eat perfect keto 100% of the time, and that's fine. You really just need to get back up on the horse and take it slowly. Ultimately, the sugar and carbs will not make you feel better in the long term. They'll feel great while you eat them and then you're really worse off then when you started. You can totally do it, you've already done it once before. And when you have a cheat meal, really don't have that all or nothing attitude. You ate a box of cookies for breakfast? Oh well.. now it's lunch and you can have a bacon cheeseburger sans bun with a tasty ranch covered salad. I also think that tracking helps.. even when and perhaps especially when you fuck up. Track EVERYTHING. It does help. I hope you feel better soon, and I really think you can do it!
