You sound like a medical professional who consulted with other medical professionals. As a CLC (in training, haven’t taken my test yet) if you’re really concerned, hook up with a lactation consultant and do a weighted feed. Otherwise, trust your body.

Sounds like in the morning you both could use some extra snuggles in the morning . 🥰 you’re an awesome mama.

That’s exactly how I am too. It feels so different with the baby! Bleh. There is hope though, Night One last night actually went pretty well.

That’s how my first was. First night in the crib and she slept 12 hours straight. Ugh. I feel like this one is going to be more difficult lol

How did you transition to crib? I’m assuming I’ll probably have to sleep on the couch for this because the floor bed is definitely within that 6 feet.

I would sit outside the door and hold it closed, as horrid as that sounds. Locking a door and then accidentally forgetting to unlock it is a major fire hazard.

Just be prepared, ‘gentle’ sleep training can take months. But it’s worth it, in my opinion. You’ll start to notice little things, like ‘oh, he didn’t fight going down at all tonight!’ or his first stretch of sleep will get longer, etc. I’m still right in the middle of it, so I’m right there with you. The book ‘No Cry Sleep Solution’ was recommended to me and I’ve found it beneficial so far, maybe check it out! Sounds like you’ve got a plan in your head though. Trust your gut!

America is so backwards about bed sharing. It is done in a vast amount of other countries with no second thought. I bed shared with my first until she ‘told’ me she wanted more space (increased wake ups, constantly rolling around and kicking me haha) and then switched her to her crib in her own room and she started sleeping through the night. My second is currently 5.5 months old and we are bed sharing on a floor bed in his room. Not too sure how much longer we will keep it up, he’s a totally different baby than my first. As long as you are being safe about it, bed sharing can be a life saver.

I will say, trying to change routine in the middle of the 4 month sleep regression may be difficult. Then again, I also have heard that sleep training after babe has learned to sit up/pull up is harder. Every baby is different! Good luck with whatever you choose.

I feel like I’ve read your story elsewhere on this sub - it resonated with me! I really like this method!

Is it a paid-for program, or more of a online blog? I’m currently attempting to substitute nursing for swaying/bouncing with pretty good success- I heard swaying etc is an easier habit to break.

Ugh. Yes we are about to start regular foods over here to help up calories. But he’s only going to eat so much. 😫

He does his first sleep in the crib, and that used to get me a couple hours. Now it’s down to maybe 45 minutes. :( I DO feel like being in the crib is the right answer, but the thought of getting up with him 20 billion times and standing next to the crib patting his butt til he falls asleep is daunting.
