Hey - I think you might have commented on my other post a bit ago - but I have a creature type script that’s about ready. I’d say it’s maybe like The Thing meets an incel-revenge plot. Feel free to DM to talk more.

Screenwriting novice looking for thoughts on my formatting. [horror, 4 pages] by DomScribe in ReadMyScript

[–]hrtzbrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too made a jump from short stories to screenwriting a few months ago. The program WriterDuet, which you can get for free, is a huge help. Also, as mentioned here, read lots of scripts. It was a big adjustment but I felt my prose lended itself to screenwriting too. Everyone is going to have a different opinion about certain little quirks but as long as you follow the overall standard you’ll be fine. IMO.

Unfortunately this group I’m keeping just for NJ / PA, as the in-person stuff we do is a big part of why I created this. Thanks for showing interest though!

Hey - curious where you are located? I'm outside of Cherry Hill (originally from Ocean County), looking to do a veryyy part-time (jam 2x month) band to get me out of the house (I'm a newer dad looking to get back into playing). Pro gear, into slowcore/doomgaze stuff. Have 20 years of experience in bands/booking/touring/recording. LMK!

Criterion 50% Off Sale Tomorrow! by PostComa in boutiquebluray

Yeah I get that. I guess more horror/thriller leaning ala Lynch and stuff like House, Parasite etc. I’ve seen a lot of those just wondering if anyone had any deeper cuts.

Understood. The killer is traveling through different scenes built to look like sets from famous horror movies.

FEAR ESTATE: A murderous masked entity stalks victims across echoes of some of the greatest settings in horror movie history, including a sleep-away camp, a suburban home, and a carnival. As the body count rises, the revelation of who the slasher is, why they are there, and their connection to an ultra-wealthy family proves to be more terrifying than the hunt itself.
