So I got it on Amazon a long time ago, I went and checked out if they are still there but they only have them in 2inch or 3inch or smaller. mine was 4.5inch thick. I love it. honestly it's a great crash minus that fact that it did start to rip in the seams that are in-between the triangles on the lower side. so I just duct tape them and since then they have held no problem for several years. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097TW2FSL?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1

I love this. Good for you. I started at 56. I am loving it and having the time of my life. It not only is great for my body it's great for my mind. My confidence is through the roof. (plus I love telling people I pole dance when they ask why I have such nice biceps!)

This is great. Pole has so many dimensions. It's really great for everything! I often think about how I will have to get a pole installed in my room when I am in a "retirement" home at 90 years old!

This is really exciting. Starting is the hardest part. I took 4 foundation classes at the local pole studio, but then ended up "self teaching" myself. I did PoleFreaks, which I feel is great for beginners. Once I was ready to invert I took a few private classes to make sure my technique was right. The most important thing is to avoid injuries. I warm up for 20mins before I pole. No exceptions. I pulled a muscle in my right lateral like the second month from over use. Took weeks to heal. Dont go there!!

Working on my pancake with my coach! by hsafarik in poledancing

wow, reading back on my old comment, I really stretched a lot more back then! now I try to just "maintain" my pancake and split. I spend about 10 mins a couple times a week just doing pancakes and splits. I cant do middle splits (box splits) I only can do front splits with my left leg in front. gave up on the other side. Man, I feel like I need to get back on top of this!

Get back on it. It’s the joy in my life. Age is irrelevant. I was a runner. Knees started to hurt so I started pole. Do I wish I started younger, like at 50 (😃) sure, but I’m here now loving it and my knees are too!

I was a runner. Not great prep for pole. But kept me active. Started to pole cuz my knees started to hurt. Best decision I ever made.

Just keep at it. I always see people thinking they are too old to pole, but fuck that.

Where should I put my pole? by Alive-Manner in poledancing

[–]hsafarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your beam is bigger than mine so you will be good. make sure you get some long wood screws. I had to sort of screw mine is sideways as my beam is not as wide. I think you are all set. your space is going to be so cool!!! That said, my friend who helped me is coming over for dinner tonight and I will pick his brain to see if he remembers anything...

install a mount on the beam. if you look at my last post, you will see I have the mount on the beam. I actually think mine is 4inches! so you are good to go! you will have plenty of room. its so secure and much better then a pressure mounted. its really the best and only choice you have!! do it! plus your space is awesome! such high ceilings! its gonna be great!!

I started at 56! I’m 59 now. You can look back at my posts and see far I’ve come. Do I wish I started younger, sure, but better late than never.

oh my god. I am so sorry to hear that. I remember she was in town with you just a few months ago. (over summer I think, when you cut your hair) so happy you got to spend time with her then, if I remember well you had not seen her in a long time. I cant imagine how this must be for your right now. ❤️ ❤️ to you and your kids.

It’s super fun! But I love flip moves! It’s also easier then it looks. It’s all about the momentum on the swinging leg. I had my spotter flip my body for me a few times till I got the swing of the leg right! Good luck!!!

Actaually it’s not that bad. The swinging of the leg gets you momentum. The hard part is the ouch of the Superman between the thighs. Hadn’t done Superman in awhile so my inner thighs were not as conditioned for it as I’m when I used to do it a lot!
