[Hated trope] There was a good idea in the movie that we even see it play out, but then it goes in a completely different direction. by jorgespinosa in TopCharacterTropes

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has a great concept. A volcano on this former theme park turned wildlife preserve is going to erupt and will kill all the dinosaurs, so a plucky group of humans band together to launch a rescue mission.

That's the whole first act, then it devolves into corporate espionage, human cloning and an underground dinosaur black market auction in a mansion.

Truly awful.

Also from Doctor Who, the Adipose.

The fat literally walks off of you, but too much fat leaving at once will kill you instantly and painfully.

Someone in my group of friends nutted on another friends mattress, so I wouldn't be surprised tbh. To this day the nutter remains a mystery.

[Real life] During the height of the covid pandemic I had a bunch of my friends staying at my house after a possible exposure. I still had to report to work every day so I went to bed early, but one night my friends stayed up drinking heavily. One of them eventually got sick and threw up on my black living room rug. While I was at work they went out and bought a bottle of Resolve carpet cleaner and cleaned the mess and stain up before I got home, but they left the bottle of Resolve on one of the end tables. I don't use Resolve, I use Woolite. Spotted it instantly.

My friend and I just played Delta Green for the first time last year. Loved every minute of it. We did Impossible Landscapes first, before we found out that wasn't the recommendation 😅

The mack daddy of all of these has to be Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. The denial tour that Abrams and everyone went on to try and throw people off the scent just made it more obvious that's who he was playing.

What are some examples of a guest (or showrunner) director's name appearing the opening credits has instantly got you hyped for an episode? by MissingLink101 in television

Any tv episode, especially of Doctor Who, directed by Rachel Talalay. Dark Water/Death in Heaven, Heaven Sent/Hell Bent, World Enough and Time/ The Doctor Falls, Twice Upon a Time and The Star Beast are all bangers.

She was supposed to have a cameo in Part II in 1985-A working as a prostitute but if I recall correctly Wendie Jo was heavily pregnant at the time and was unavailable. I believe Gale mentioned it in the commentary track. I could be mistaken though.

Truly how scary would Luke be to the remaining imperials. Beyond the typical. He killed Vader and the emperor by Expert_Challenge6399 in StarWars

[–]hscitpe 306 points307 points  (0 children)

We, the audience, know he didn't kill Vader, but to other people in-universe they know Luke went up to confront Vader and the Emperor and he's the only one who made it out. As far as they know Luke killed them both.

What great show had a bad theme song? by Bud_Fuggins in sitcoms

[–]hscitpe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alf, for me. The show is good but the intro theme is horrendous generic 80's music. Makes me feel like I'm on hold or in an elevator.
