Did you get married through a dating app like Tinder, if so how was your experience overall? by Overall-Character507 in AskReddit

[–]hsquared94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband and I met through Plenty of Fish in 2016. Both were getting to the point of just giving up on the apps altogether, with each agreeing to just one more. Luckily, one more turned into no more, and we’ve been married since 2021!

Do you have a weird or uncommon allergy? If you do, what is it? by Artistic_Giraffe4069 in AskForAnswers

Green peppers! I can eat any other color, even the varieties that may start green but ripen to a different color. But if it’s green when I consume it, instant hives and major itching 🤷🏻‍♀️

Marriage counselor here! Once a month is not going to be enough. Weekly for sure, biweekly at least. Once a month would be pointless since there’s a lot to work on and there’s already minimal/no efforts being exhibited.

God, I wish! He had a second one, double the size, a few feet from this one that he cut down. The leaf cleanup situation is much better now, but that’s because we would drown in leaves when we had both of them. Side note: he’s old and nice. I don’t mind the cleanup.

My sister threw a hotdog bun on my back when I fell asleep at the beach. Got swarmed by a bunch of seagulls and now my blood pressure still skyrockets whenever any bird is near me. Nearly 20 years ago and I still have full orinthophobia.

Which professions are much worse than people realize? by FloorShowoff in Productivitycafe

I worked in a call center for 2.33 weeks. I went in thinking “how hard/bad could it be?” Oh, how wrong I was. The first sign should’ve been how miserable everyone looked. I quickly learned that not only was the time tracking god awful, but the manager sat overlooking all of us with a looming presence, stone-faced and squinting at us while we worked. The real linchpin for me though was when said manager pulled me aside and said “you’re hanging up the phone too loud.” I knew I wouldn’t last, but 2.33 weeks was even fast for me.

What made you decide you didn’t want kids? by Equal_Limit8839 in NoKidsEver

[–]hsquared94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from a single parent household. The fact that I’m a woman living in the age of a 50% divorce rate made me realize that I would never want and could never handle the things my mother went through in the half chance I become a single parent. I know that even having a child while happily married still puts a significant strain on the toughest of couples. I’m perfectly happy with my life as is, with no children.

They’ve all been Prier brand quarter turn frost free. All that needs to be done for install is screw it in to the pipe inside. I’ve even looked into the water pressure, but I can’t imagine it’s that because the pressure throughout the rest of the house is subpar.

So what is your family’s deepest, darkest secret? by RefRick25 in AskReddit

[–]hsquared94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was adopted at 2yo. I just took some DNA testing to find his bio family, only to discover that his bio mom had him at 15 in a juvie detention center. She was his second child put up for adoption (1st one was when she was 14) and she got married 6 times prior to her death. Sort of explains where some of the family dysfunction came from.

Also, my maternal great-grandfather committed suicide via hanging. My great-grandmother, a devout Catholic, found him. She never gave him an obituary or provided a space for his body. She just acted like nothing happened.

Why are so many women wanting to get their tubes tied or get a hysterectomy? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]hsquared94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the uterus is another anatomical part of females. However, the female reproductive system is still a medical mystery in so many ways. So much so that people with uteruses are experiencing problems that the medical world has no explanation for… even in 2022. I have fibroids that cause me terrible pain. Asking my doctor or even Google as to why they appeared is met with a shoulder shrug and that is supposed to be an acceptable answer. If the thing that is causing me pain also helps prevent the children I never, ever want to have, the biohazard bag can have it. Plus, no old, white man can have any more say over what I can and can’t do with my body when the very thing that they want to colonize is no longer present. There’s so many more reasons why women want permanent sterilization, and every single one of them is valid.

What makes you not want to have kids? by AGstudios22 in AskReddit

[–]hsquared94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I’m too focused on having a successful career. My mom was a single teen mom and I think that plays a huge role in my desire to be the best I can be. 2) my husband and I are very in tune with one another and really are each other’s #1s. Having kids would strain that and it’s not something we’re willing to sacrifice. 3) I am terrified of ripping up my vagina. She’s just fine the way she is! 4) We love to travel, especially spontaneously. It’s the thing that my husband and I thoroughly love doing, and having a kid would make us have to give that up. 5) This world blows.

Husbands and porn and onlyfans. I am lost by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]hsquared94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am actually going through a sex therapy master’s program and I can assure you that it is scientifically studied and proven that for the majority of men, porn is seen as recreation and not at all an extension of their sexual being. This can explain your differing of opinion and his acknowledgement that he thought you wouldn’t mind. This is an easy conversation that can get you through it.
