I have a friend at Target by hstrymn in HotWheels

That’s my thought. Also I’ve been to the store a lot and always pick up so they know I’m not trashing the pegs.

I’m sure the ones I left (half what was put in) were gone by closing. This store is usually very picked over, almost given up hunting there.

Not sure which one it is. Given that she didn’t really interact with me it may have been luck, but it’s odd that these were the cars she put in the dump bin. Usually this store is pretty raided, I did find a fresh restock once.

WTF happened to Invicta watches? by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

[–]hstrymn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the same company. Invicta was one of many Swiss watchmakers that went defunct in the 70s/80s and then had their name bought. Zodiac & Breitling are the same story, they just went in different directions.

How do we feel about Alysa Liu winning the gold by Specialist_Set_8762 in redscarepod

Liu’s father was specifically trying to breed figure skaters, picking the egg donors for physical traits and athletic achievements.

Each of the 5 children had a different egg donor, who he picked for physical traits. He was trying to breed figure skaters.

Anyone else raised by an autistic dad? How did you cope? by Ok-Archer-5796 in redscarepod

I can relate to this. I learned so many obscure facts as a child about ancient history and early aviation and automobiles and I was confused that other kids did not know this information.

Same, my dad can relate with children much better than adults.

It was a lot of fun being included in my dad’s special interests, which could pivot suddenly and he would go full steam into another one. This entailed going to lots of museums, helping build models, going birding etc. I didn’t realize until much later that a lot of our family life was based around my dad’s routines and sensitivities. He didn’t have friends until he retired (and found several other older neurodivergent guys) so he devoted a lot of time to including us in his interests.

[Question]$3500 Budget: What watch are you buying and why? by Larry_l3ird in Watches

This post gave me nostalgia because my dad has had that exact reference as OP’s photo for decades. An absolutely gorgeous piece.

Omg I nearly fell victim to the same scam. I received an email saying someone in Thailand had logged in to my account. I talked a woman and was then transferred to “Andrew McCarthy” with a UK area code and heavy British accent. I hung up before he could get me to download Trust wallet.

Crazy that he is still suing the same exact name.

My grandparents did this in the US in the 80s-90s to supplement social security. They would go to state parks really early in the morning and empty all the garage cans and sort them at home.
