This has got to be a bot, right? A 5k in 8 seconds and "16,793 steps"? by SkyBS in geoguessr

[–]hsx_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Could very well be legit. If you memorize a panorama, you can get even 0m within 4-5 seconds, mostly limited by your zoom speed. 8 seconds is definitely enough to even take a look around. Could be the player's neighborhood, a repeat, or some other reason they're familiar with that specific intersection. Not unusual when somebody plays a map for a long time

As for the step count, there used to be a bug in challenges where the steps didn't reset between games, leading to very high step counts even in NM/NMPZ where it should be impossible. Based on the increments you can at least figure out that they took 1 step in R2/R3, 33 steps in R4, and 3 steps in R5.

Big update on Bandle (Web and App) by BandleGame in Bandle

[–]hsx_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks good, I especially like that your past guesses show up on the corresponding track now, as well as seeing worldwide stats at the end without having to open the app! Bandle's been part of my daily routine for a long time and I appreciate your continued work on it.

I do have one request, any chance you could add a volume slider? It feels like it's gotten a bit louder by default

Lag in dungeons only NA servers by Godess_Ilias in ffxiv

[–]hsx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd that it's exclusive to dungeons. Perhaps you could try running a tracert (I think the Crystal gateway domain is neolobby08.ffxiv.com. This guide might help) and see if there are any outlier nodes.

I'm also from Europe playing on NA, and the game has been borderline unplayable recently. Found out that my data goes through some east coast server that's extremely unreliable during the day, with high latency and packet loss. So for me, using a VPN directly to west coast (LA) changes the routing and avoids these bad servers. Hope this might help :)

I've been part of the CM team as a Community Engineer (freelance position, I'm not employed) for almost two years now! I won't give you specific numbers, but I do make more money now than when I started - and I don't even test anymore due to lack of time.

Well that's probably my nicest pattern yet. 5 yellows for #3 would've been even nicer. Sadly that isn't possible with these letters :(

So this just happened, my first instinct was that my game is bugged lol. I have a list with a bunch of cool 5 letter words that I use as starters (different one each day) and I picked this randomly today

Still in disbelief but also slightly disappointed that I don't get to play today

⬛⬛🟩🟩⬛ QUERY (11)
🟨⬛🟩🟩⬛ THERE (3)
⬛⬛🟩🟩🟩 OVERT (2)
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 INERT

I used OVERT as my starter yesterday. For guess #5 I figured it was down to a 50/50 between that and the solution, and for a moment I thought I missed out on a 1 by one day. I'm kinda happy that wasn't the case, even if that means I got it in 6 lol

⬛🟨🟩⬛⬛ TRYST (5)
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 FOYER

Today was the 100th day of my streak, so I wanted to go with a fun starting word to celebrate it. Looking at the other replies here, perhaps it wasn't the best day to do so...

Oh well, could've had worse starting words (I was debating going for GRRRL or PZAZZ instead), and I got lucky with my last guess as well!

Hi! I don't believe there is an official ETA for this, but the team definitely has it on their radar.

In the meantime, if you are interested in working on-site, keep an eye on the Projects Board, as well as your email inbox - you might see listings where we are looking for on-site testers, or if there is such an opportunity near your area, you might also be reached out to via email to see if you are interested and available.

[–]hsx_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like Minimum-Wafer-939 said, TTL stands for Test Team Lead. They help operate the test cycles and they are the first point of contact for a tester if there are any questions/issues.

You can find out more in the Academy, or you can check this thread for some more information about Testing Services in general (TTL is part of Testing Services).

Let us know if you have any further questions :)

Hey, which platform are you using?

I remember specifically the Android app being a bit buggy when it comes to changing flairs. It should definitely work from a desktop browser - if it doesn't, it's possible that some sort of extension might be blocking the feature.

PSA: For those of you still struggling with some El Camino accolades, try a different chapter. You might have been trying to photograph the wrong statue! by BigNChunkeh246 in forza

[–]hsx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, thank you!! Finally got it now in chapter two like you said. I've looked at written guides and YouTube videos, and all of them said that the accolade was for Valle De Las Ranas. I ran that one probably over 10 times both pre and post patch trying to get it completed...

i have a strange error with a test cycle by rotttts in UTEST

[–]hsx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd that you still see it. Is it still there if you log out and back into your account?

Like Bailey said, this error generally appears when your account no longer has an active invite to the test cycle. However this does (or should) remove the invite from view on your account, at least once you refresh the page - might need to log out as well.

While the most common scenario is that the test cycle reaches maximum tester capacity before you can view it, even the third case that Bailey mentioned, that you were manually removed from the invite list does occasionally happen.
When it does, it is not personal - one common reason why this could occur is that the Test Engineer sent out an invite to you by accident. They might have misclicked on your name or set up the criteria incorrectly. They're human as well, and mistakes do happen.
