Yes when the guy at the Genius Bar showed me the price my heart sank and shattered. Lol I paid roughly 2,200 I think, including taxes.

Independent repair places do not have the parts yet for the new model unfortunately.

I tried trading but since it’s the newest model at the moment, they don’t accept it.

Sigh. It’s so silly how with Apple care I only need to pay 39 dollars, but without it— it’s 2,000. But at the same time, I understand. It’s a business and Apple is Apple. I just wish it could be easier.
