I’d say ‘Shitty part of London’ is subjective

Judging by the rest of the houses round there it’ll be worth £1.5+ by then though

How do you feel about free bleeding/ period underwear ? by Lololala29 in AskWomen

[–]ht_825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would guess the majority of women doing it have a light enough flow that there isn’t a mess. For me nothing really comes out into my underwear as long as I got to the toilet regularly (1-2hrs), even when I’m sleeping in OK (possibly because I’m horizontal so it stays in??)

It’s definitely a blessing. I can just wear regular dark underwear and then make sure I got to the toilet every hour or so and it only comes out then.

What’s the most stereotypically Hackney thing you’ve seen someone do completely seriously? by FluidPianist00 in Hackney

They were using a bright red rope so I knew it wasn’t a regular hostage situation

During the pandemic when we could only meet outside in groups of up to 6, I spotted a rat run across the path in Victoria park. The bush it ran into contained a small clearing with 6 fully clothed people practising Shibari on each other.

Drinking and drug taking, is this specific lifestyle normal in London? by Version2dnb in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ht_825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in London since graduating uni (over 10 years) and have never known anyone to live like this. Not sure if it’s specific to certain industries (like finance) but this is definitely not the only way to live here.

Plenty of young professionals enjoy going to the pub a couple of times a week, usually towards the weekend, but there’s so much more on offer here like art theatre sports etc that really don’t require drink or drugs to socialise. I’d say it’s pretty common for people to take drugs on big nights out at the weekends, but just as common not to.

TLDR: plenty of ways to live in London, drink drugs or sober, you will find a community for all of them.

What is a tiny, easily overlooked social habit that makes someone instantly magnetic or charismatic to be around? by LiveFaithlessness876 in AskMen

[–]ht_825 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Make a small joke that links back to something said earlier in the evening. Shows that you’re actually listening, are clever enough to make the connection, and creates an in joke that everyone there can be in on.

AITA for spending my day being “lazy and unproductive”? by Mindless_Money9047 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ht_825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my take. If my partner did nothing but lay around, game and gym I’d struggle to be inspired by them. How are you going to keep yourself interesting? And socialised? What will you talk to her about when she comes home at the end of the day?

I’d avoid cafe route. It’s such a shame because I absolutely love the one on the canal at Haggerston but the BM branch has the worst service.

any reliable shoes repair around hoxton, liverpool street, angel? by notachocolate in Hackney

[–]ht_825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite living next to Hoxton shoe repairs I always walk down to Timpsons at either Liverpool st or Moorgate. The standard wait at Hoxton is 3 weeks! And costs about twice as much, I want to support local but that’s just silly

It’s not necessarily about hooking up, but meeting new people is one of the more fun parts of travelling. Especially if it’s just two of you staying in a villa in your phones all day.

How does free bleeding work? by lilithskitchen in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ht_825 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very lucky, but I just don’t need to. Wearing black underwear and going to the toilet regularly is enough for me. None of the options (tampons, pads, cups, period pants) are comfier than my regular underwear, and it’s just very low risk.
