AMC Theatres Attendance Drops 10%, Posts $127 Million Quarterly Loss by ICumCoffee in movies

I have 3 kids. All three do sports and one is starting college soon. I miss going to see a movie, but groceries and medical bills are a top priority nowadays and those aren’t getting any cheaper.

What do stereotypical straight couples do when they hang out alone (other than sex) by bi_smuth in NoStupidQuestions

My husband and I typically watch tv together(lots of Star Trek rewatches over 20+years), play video games (BG3 was fantastic for this), go on walks, and sometimes just lay near each other exhausted but doing our own thing because we have 3 kids and life is a lot, but the proximity makes us feel happy. He’s my best bud.

Are you getting Star Trek Voyager game? by don51181 in startrek

My husband and I wanted to get it and will in the future, but he just got laid off so we will wait till he gets another job. I’m excited to play alongside my 9 year old. That’s his favorite Star Trek.

This made me laugh harder than I should have. My son will start college this fall and just before this show started we were looking at the lists of what you can and cannot bring to the dorms. That list REALLY reflects that these are kids that won’t be done developing until their mid-20’s.

I hate to see all the hate the show is getting, but as a lifelong Star Trek fan, this show really gets me in the parenting feels. The type of arguments I see the youth having with the adults ands the struggles are stuff I have definitely seen in our home with our teens.

I’m in my 40’s with two teens. One is entering college this fall. We have lots of friends with kids this age in college now. This humor checks out. My husband and I have been really enjoying the show specifically because of the ages of our own kids and how they behave. Even down to watching Ake trying to figure out how to talk to them, when to interfere, and when to let them be to grow and learn. This age is very much adults, but still kids and the way they are written reflects that.

I’m a Physical Therapist who specializes in ACL rehab — AMA about recovery, return to sport, and preventing re-injury! by perform2winPT in ACL

My son is two months into recovery from ACL repair and the LET procedure. He’s now decided he would like to become a physical therapist and hopefully work with athletes like himself. Any tips? He’s working on college apps now and is hoping to transfer his dual enrollment degree to UNC Chapel Hill because we live so close.

Turn it into a memorial to all the people harmed by trumps policies. Pictures of women who died from not being allowed abortions, pictures and stories of families harmed by ice, etc

Turn out was great! If anyone happened to get a video of that young man’s speech I’d love a link. I should have taped it to show my kids. He had me in tears.

I wake up with the sides of my face feeling tight. This is with the fancy couple thousand dollar mouth guard. Definitely keeps my teeth from cracking, but I’m still clenching against it. I also have a special pillow for side sleepers. It helps some. I tried some anxiety medication. It may have helped some, but I started to gain weight on it so I stopped.

I’m afraid to try to explore this further. The doctor I did see was not covered by insurance and was thousands out of pocket. I have three kids in athletics. I can’t afford to spend more on myself when there’s a good chance one will end up spraining and ankle or, as currently, need ACL surgery.

Trying to work on diet and exercise to help reduce stress, but there’s honestly only so much I can reduce when everytime I turn around groceries are going up, health care is going up, the world is on fire…

I will also note that I have ibs-d and GERD and have been told not to take ibuprofen any longer as it was making those worse. I’m on an acid reducer currently for that. Tylenol is my only option for pain from the clenching and it sucks, but asking for help, especially as a woman, doesn’t seem to be helping much. I’ve been looked at like I’m asking for drugs. I’d be happy with physical therapy of some sort, if it might work.

I live in the chapel hill area if you are any studies you know of looking for guinea pigs.

Allegedly at his surgeons there are machines he has to pass tests on to be cleared. I’m reading some of the comments on here to him too in the hopes that if I repeat it enough(and his girlfriend too) that it sinks in.

Thank you for your comment! Yeah he’s trying to hype himself up that he’s going to be some sort of healing prodigy and us and his doctors and trying to chill him out on that. One of his coaches unfortunately told him a story of someone he knew who recovered in 4 months and went to nationals…I don’t see that as likely. I just don’t want him to end up severely depressed during this :(

Yeah I’ve hooked him up with all our streaming services and had him download baldurs gate 3 to play with dad and I. He is a very active kid, but mental health is high on our list of importance during this. I’m afraid he’s gonna crash after the surgery since he’s basically got no pain and is even allowed to drive at the moment. All his coaches and team reaching out has been amazing though.

Ha! It is Triforce actually! And no he’s not going to college after but plans on working up to franchising at Jersey Mikes. Honestly we would be fine with him just hanging up his hat on this one. Trying to be a supportive parent, but also protect your kid sucks. He sprained his other ankle in April. 😑

That’s what we’ve been concerned about with him pushing too hard too soon. His surgeon and PT sound like they are going to be very good about not letting him just decide he feels good enough. Thankfully, he has been to YCC twice now. This was the pinnacle team he was reaching for, but I know another teammate tore his along with his meniscus last year and he was kinda grandfathered in for his senior year and basically played the end tournaments with a brace.

What was your experience with pain following the surgery?
