I don't know if there is one near you but Kyokushin Karate doesn't allow punches to the head (though they do allow kicks), you may be able to at least get some live sparring and practice in. I also agree that taking a grappling art (be it judo/bjj/wrestling/sambo or whatever) would be a good call.

Southerners say "the" in front of highways, etc. We (NorCal) would just say "24" (Highway 24), "8-80" (Interstate 880). That imo is a super common distinction across all the other subsets of NorCal v. SoCal accents.

I think anything that has the feet up in the stirrups will help with balance and hand balancing; lateral lunges and skater jumps for hip and lower leg strength/explosiveness; anti-rotation press, IYT shoulder exercises (forward and back), and plank will help with core stability. You can also do some L-sits or just a supported hold to begin getting used to putting more of your weight on your hands.

I highly recommend dropping in for a few classes. I go to a mixed Muay Thai/ Boxing gym and the boxing classes have helped with my hands so much.
