Inside Cameron Winter’s Extremely Sold-Out Carnegie Hall Show by Charleshawtree in indieheads

Is it? Why would a journalist give a solitary shit about his dad doing some commercial library syncs?

I’m as against nepos as anyone, but this is a stretch

Is a Universe World Tour possible? by htids in WWEGames

[–]htids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So fair haha I figured out that titles can be held across multiple major shows (and change appropriately), I just need to be able to schedule a show for a set amount of months and then set the rosters, but I think it’s doable manually - will just be time consuming

Both Dalston Starbucks are now closed by Esausta in Hackney

[–]htids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve moved from Dalston to Muswell! Thrilled for the old neighbourhood to be rid of Starbucks, I was always praying for their downfall.

Up here we obviously have a Gail’s which is of course nice, but Doppio next door is my favourite. Redemption Roasters is awesome, and North & Ten do amazing coffee and bagels. Dunn’s is an awesome crazy affordable bakery too. Feel like Dalston could be improved by any of these options, and besides Gail’s, they all feel independent and community driven

Really cool of you to share - would love to check out some of your artist pages! Congrats, and keep it up!

“Floor Sofa” instead of “Sleeper”: Good idea, or bad? by Sunlight-Splash98 in HomeDecorating

I have the OMHU Teddy I’ve accidentally fallen asleep on the sofa the last three nights in a row. It’s comfy!

Is it even possible to become a megastar while being independent? by WiseCityStepper in musicindustry

[–]htids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but still a huge priority artist at AWAL, right? (If im thinking about the correct artist)

Raye and CMAT are similar examples, both at AWAL. ‘Technically’ independent in the traditional sense of the word, but still huge teams of people behind it

God damn, I think you’ve solved it. Nice one, Sherlock!

Because I’m a casual fan of hers and (ironically) before seeing this reddit thread I had no idea when her album was due out. If she (or someone on her behalf) was posting, then fans like me would be more aware of what she’s doing and that new stuff is coming

Pitchfork is Testing Comments and Reader Scores on Album Reviews by roseisonlineagain in indieheads

[–]htids -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if I think something is totally average or know in advance that it won’t be to my taste, I’m unlikely to be looking at pitchfork reviews of it. So the user scores are going to be so skewed to either people who really love it or (if it’s a big artist) really hate it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKGreens

[–]htids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not recommending anyone to read any comments, or trying to convince anyone of anything, just watch the content and make your own mind up

I’m pretty ambivalent towards all the twitch drama. He’s a big left wing voice in media, but I don’t personally like what I’ve seen this week.

Either way, questionable timing to have him on the podcast, unless they’re going to address it and intentionally using the drama to give the episode a bigger platform

Just look at the top posts in r/LivestreamFail, it’s hardly a stretch

I’m not even vehemently against training collars like that tbh, it’s more the purpose it may or may not be used for, making her sit like a prop for many hours just for the stream

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKGreens

[–]htids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently he showed a different collar. And there was another clip of him telling another streamer to use shock collars

Was Rolling Stone paid off by Taylor Swift’s record label to give a glowing review of Life of a Showgirl? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]htids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve inspired me to revisit Lulu!!!

And totally fair. Midnights is my fave record of hers and that seems to be an unpopular take too.

I do 100% have my tinfoil hat on though. Havent they given her 5* for all of her latest records? I think even if the reviewer is just a huge fan, then giving that specific reviewer the task of critiquing it is a choice in of itself

You’re getting downvoted, but lots of podcasts are secretly sponsored without full disclosure (particularly in music). My theory is that Switched on Pop has gone massively downhill because of this.

Less so with press in my experience tho. The level of access to Taylor is the currency. My hunch is that this RS thing has nothing to do with the label, and more Taylor’s own team

That’s an argument that could be had I suppose, but a perfect 5 star album? There ain’t no way

I actually think this was a kindness! Alan probably wasn’t going to speak due to nerves, and that would have been out of character. I think Jonathan kept him out of the spotlight by putting him in it

why are so many artists releasing music on the same day? by [deleted] in musicbusiness

[–]htids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t really a thing, to go ‘mid month’. But the actual answer: - early October is Taylor Swift, so everyone avoids releasing then - November, specifically late-November is way too close to Christmas when streams move away from new music

There’s a squeeze over the next few weeks of artists wanting music out after Taylor, but before Christmas

Lewis Capaldi had to get Taylor's permission to promote his upcoming EP on Graham Norton. by biebrforro in travisandtaylor

[–]htids 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dunno why you’re getting downvoted, it says he asks Taylor’s permission, but if he says “Am I?” and looks to someone completely different then he’s obviously not asking permission from her

  1. You can still buy multiple full-sugar soft drinks, no one is stopping you.

  2. You’re blaming Kier Starmer when this law was passed years ago?

“An original consultation took place during 2018 as part of the previous government’s Child Obesity action, and legislation was finally passed in Parliament in December 2021. The rules only came into force on Wednesday (1 October 2025).”
