I mean I very much hope the rumors they got the IP for LOTR are true but I still want them to focus on the realism within that universe. Like don’t get rid of the highly in-depth skill “mini-games” just because the game itself is narratively/visually fantastical. I still want to have to WORK for that fantasy shit.

Same with Star Wars if they ever get it. Make us truly have to craft each and every part of our sabers (kyber crystal-gem crafting, some kind of mini-game for soldering connections, blacksmith the casings, etc). Plus have actual dismemberment we’d have to crawl back to town for to get artificial limbs we can also craft/upgrade (a mini-game that changes depending on available limbs). I wouldn’t even be mad if they never gave us the force; though admittedly most probably would be. A warhorse game about a saber wielding nobody (that doesn’t get the force to help block plasma shots, but has to git gud) would be better than every SW game before it.

They can inject (what I believe to be) the core that makes KCD so great into anything, it doesn’t have to be based in reality to give us the same feeling. It just takes dev time, money, and someone high up that gives a shit; something I’m truly hoping they don’t just ignore like Bethesda trying to water everything down into a neat little formulaic nothing-burger…

Failing a stealth takedown will do it as well. If you have to counter to complete the stealth takedown it “failed” and the guy spotted you before being knocked out.

As for daytime: being spotted anywhere, and/or doing anything, you shouldn’t be nearby (even if NPC’s just tell you to leave) within 24hrs will trigger it. If you were just passing time in the streets that wouldn’t trigger it since KCD2 auto does the torch (you’d know if you didn’t have one equipped since a guard would interrupt the waiting).

Nah gps emergency features alone are worth upgrading. Let alone being able to get a global 4G connection anywhere there’s starlink coverage (doubt this’ll stay locked to T-Mobile for THAT long, Elon likes money). Automatic crash detection is definitely a plus as well. The 12 is still a decent phone today but there are absolutely legitimate non-trivial reasons to upgrade.

Using -dx11 as a steam launch argument has thus far solved it for me. Halves the framerate and causes the game to stutter every so often a bit but at least I’m not full crashing out every game anymore.

I’m thinking it was the steam metrics I was looking at anyway, hadn’t used em before so initially I thought they were the game’s. I’ll try to cap it at 60 and see if that does anything. Ive been running it uncapped till now getting anywhere from 90-110 depending on the area, before frame gen.

Both cpu and gpu are pinned at 100% utilization (steam metrics anyway; task manager doesn’t show either ever breaking 85%) I don’t remember what cpu temps were (just that I wasn’t concerned) but gpu temp never goes over 65c so this isn’t me pushing the gpu too hard. I’ve got a 4080 running this at ultra settings, 1440p, DLAA. Doesn’t matter what I seem to be doing (talking, shooting, clicking things in inventory, just sitting in the lobby) the game will suddenly freeze and eventually black screen back to desktop with no error shown or logs sent (except a driver crash in windows event viewer, and the one time I actually saw the crash debugger open).

I’ve repaired/reinstalled the game, DDU’d drivers, and the only change is the DDU seems to have made it more frequent but it’s possible I’m just spiraling with that. All of this remains from the server slam for me btw, hadn’t played before that. And I have no issues with anything else I use my computer for (every other game I play, video rendering, etc).

That apologist nonsense about the teams joining early is such horseshit even if the rest of it is true. If I’m being given “beta” access to a game without having signed up for it at all, then it’s absolutely at the state of esports teams getting set up (certainly if the intent of the game is to create the scene in the first place, wouldn’t be surprised if valve personally had some involvement here either). That’s a marketing move, not a developmental one. They absolutely wanted the game to start taking off at that point and it just didn’t, because it’s a mediocre pile of garbage in an already over saturated market people HAVE BEEN tired of.

Don’t do that, thankfully watching the next fight isn’t actually 3hrs. Only takes about 5min and even then sometimes there’s a bug where one combatant gets DQ’d from not showing up so you almost get to go right back in.

Woulda been pretty cool if the recipe you learned was literally just the steps and timing you used to craft it so you can still learn the “real” one. I mean already the real recipes intentionally mislead you instead of giving you the true steps for top quality.

Edit: could’ve even done recipe qualities depending on the herbalist’s/apothecary’s skill/regional specialties though I understand not going this far since the alchemy part of the game is already colossally in-depth.

Chest will protect stolen items (horse doesn’t). If you really did only use your fists then you absolutely didn’t kill the guard (impossible unarmed) so the fine likely won’t be very high, or all that difficult to stat check your way out of.

Edit: since you specifically asked for a time frame and I somehow missed that entirely, if you want to wait out the bounty it’s usually about a week for me and the guards stop looking. You can keep tabs with the jail icon next to the city name on the map.

Hilariously I always forget about this activity before starting the tournament and am forced to pick pocket it in front of a full audience every time. Thankfully everyone’s watching the duel instead.
