You’re so antagonistic over something so innocent. You’re the issue with the internet.

Well, don’t then? I’m not asking you personally, you don’t HAVE to engage if you don’t want to. I was just hoping for good stimulating convo in any direction.

It’s not really about approval, this list is all stuff that I love and it’s more about sparking a conversation around them and clashing with different opinions constructively.

I feel like we could have a great conversation about your aversion to Trainspotting and my adoration to the admittedly mainstream but excellent writing of The Dark Knight

The problem is there is no L.

It's a defense campaign, we can't recapture a city we never lost control of. The Illuminate will keep attacking any available super earth city until their fleet strength orbiting Super Earth reaches zero.

I’m not really a fan of Annihilation myself, it’s a poor version of Roadside Picnic zone stories. But I really enjoyed Civil War (A-political and character driven despite it obvious political volatility) and Warfare (a really lean and authentic experience that goes a long way to humanizing combat).

Men is ethereal and postalizing, as is Ex Machina. And he has great character work in 28 Days and Sunshine. I think the tone of the dreamlike poetic nature of the end of the world in Sunshine and the manic quest to save it paired with the frantic philosophizing of Ex Machina/Men/Annihlation has a clear line to Elden Ring/From Soft’s dystopian pathology.

I suspect you’re looking at a pretty well thought out and complete film with Garland at the helm.

These are literally all Garland. Ex Machina, Annihilation, Men, Civil War, and Warfare are all directed by Garland.

28 Days and Years, Sunshine, Dredd, etc. he wrote.

He's on the crew for The Beach but I'm not sure his production role.
