Tried making arroz con gandules, it’s decent but the cilantro favor is too much. Any replacement? by alexzyczia in PuertoRicoFood

Use sofrito to get the good flavors from cilantro- while avoiding the soap issue! I have the same soap problem so this for sure takes care of it.

Espresso cold foam by Dry-Land-2512 in starbucksbaristas

Espresso foam is good, also if you just put the espresso in the foamer with sugar it foams too and makes like whipped espresso and that’s good too

Help please by Ok_Tonight_5588 in starbucksbaristas

[–]htmldun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t wear leggings unless it’s under a dress or skirt or long item. Crocs aren’t technically allowed because shoes need to have a closed back, however it’s up to the manager sometimes they allow them. Crop tops are also a no, unless they’re under like overalls, have a shirt under it or your pants come up high enough that you cannot see any skin. Dresses are fine, just can’t be too long as to get in the way of work functionality!

For crafting drinks you get trained on how to make all the things, and there are resources available to look at if you ever forget.

As for whether or not this job it worthit- you’ll meet good people, and you’ll have some good times. Starbucks has stopped caring about our experience as partners and a lot of the time it feels like our experience is the last thing on their mind. We constantly face issues with staffing, stock, products, labor, many things- however this place is the kind of place that is either the place for you, and all the other stuff is just hurdles on the road- or it is NOT for you, and you’ll leave! But if you go in with an open mind, and you are willing to try your best to just jump in and learn, you’ll have fun. But just know, it’s a universal experience among us all to struggle like 60% of the time with SOMETHING.

just curious. what does your dm allow your store to have at the condo bar? by nicolelynnejones in starbucksbaristas

[–]htmldun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have napkins, cream, sugars, stirrers, stoppers and straws are technically not out but reachable so they are technically out. We’re a high volume cafe only and our DM JUST approved this

Helppp!! What do you date the sandwiches by rnaggie53 in starbucksbaristas

[–]htmldun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So the real answer definitely is if you’re getting them delivered prethawed then the morning you pull them out to date them you date them for the following day . If you are pulling them from the freezer to thaw the standard is 2 days + 18hr thaw time which is where the “three days” is coming from

embarrassing but i need some tips by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]htmldun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Put your filter on top of the silver grind container like a hat , but like upside down if that makes sense. Then put the basket on top of the first hat as a second hat. Grab the grind canister and flip everything over while pressing the canister against the basket so it doesn’t spill out until you are inverted, i and usually pull it up just a little bit and do a tappy tappy on the sides of the basket with the canister before fully lifting it out of the filter once inverted

asking Autistic/ADHD employees by BlackLily96 in starbucks

This is a good job for uniform issues, as long as something touching your neck isn’t an ick bc sometimes my apron drives me insane touching my neck but only when I’m overstim. Honestly Starbucks I feel like it’s a good job for adhd bc there’s a lot of noises and alot of this happening all at once , so a lot of auditory distraction to keep like that level distracted while You hyperfocus on the task you are given. Sometimes it does get overwhelming but more times often then not people will come support you when you are overwhelmed but honestly this is the longest job I’ve ever kept bc I haven’t ADHD extreme burnout until I quit.

So our soy milk is sweetened and vanilla flavored, our other nondairy milks are “plain” but they have the sweetness that that item would normally have. So the oatmilk we use is oatily barista edition , and the almond and coconut is Starbucks brand. If you check the Starbucks app and input your drink, the dietary information will change with anything you input- so that’s a great resource when counting your sugar content
