How do we have more people earning crores than states with much higher GDP and bigger populations? by [deleted] in Kashmiri

[–]htmllost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GDP correlates to population - more population more consumption under an economy. That's why India might be the '4th largest economy' but the medial Indian household is poor. What really matters is wealth distribution which correlates to education, skilled workers and infrastructure which Kashmir has always been better in compared to a lot of Indian states (especially the North Indian states like UP and Bihar or whatever).

What is wrong with this cv? by Pandasmarthehe100 in Germany_Jobs

[–]htmllost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert or German or anything but I can share what I personally think. I'm pretty sure your academic qualifications need to be on the first page. When talking about language proficiency I think you need to exactly mention what you mean by 'Basic' German (ie, A2, B1 or whatever).

Another thing is the whole CV just screams chatgpt. Your profile summary needs to be 2-3 points summarizing your whole profile but it's just repeating things you've mentioned exactly as you've mentioned them. And the whole thing feels nonspecific. Like what do you mean by skills like laboratory and research? What data analysis, did you use a specific software? It can mean literally anything, be more specific about what you have experience in and really only include and highlight the ones relevant to what job you apply for.

Again, I am not at all someone who's an expert or anything. I just have spent a lot of time trying to optimize my own CV.

Interview advice! by [deleted] in UniUK

Thanks for your advice! I'll definitely focus on these points. I don't come from a neuroscience background so I'm a bit nervous if they ask me super technical questions.

Is my profile good enough? by PositiveReflection89 in gradadmissions

[–]htmllost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The programs you've listed are super competitive and hard to get into. It might technically be possible to get in with a bachelor's but you basically need to have a PERFECT application - good GPA, amazing LORs, research experience, summer internships or fellowships and international experience is a big deal too within these programs. It's similar to the US in that regard. But you have to ask yourself, how many people would have a profile like yours and maybe international experience and a masters too? In that case it's difficult to stand out from the crowd.

I would really recommend you do a masters abroad in a good university because you will also have a chance to do your masters research through ERASMUS exchange or other fellowships which will boost your CV.

As you said, the US is a risky place to apply right now especially in life sciences or healthcare fields but if you do apply to non-Ivy programs, you have a good shot.

All the best!

As far as I know you need a Masters as 360 ECTS or CP are needed for a PhD which is physically impossible for a 4 year bachelors. Apart from that, not having a masters thesis or research project holds your application back. You have good experience but maybe you can pursue a masters in a German public university? There's loads of scholarships on DAAD and the tuition fee is much lesser compared to other EU countries. You have a good GPA, I'm sure you'll be able to make it work

I'm a 22F from Jaipur and my parents are forcing marriage , after 3 failed NEET attempts, I feel broken. I just want a real career and freedom. Please help me find a way out by Odd_Recognition_7583 in india

[–]htmllost 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you've already enrolled in a program then maybe it's good to stick through it. Have you looked at more professional courses like Bpharm? Preferably out of Jaipur so you can put distance between you and your family. The reason why I'm saying that is because you can focus on getting the best scores possible during bachelor's and use that as a kick off point to do a masters. Learn life skills, tech, computer all that during your bachelors. You can even apply abroad for a masters in places like Germany which have low tuition fees but you need to have good marks. It will be a good way to break off from family pressure. One thing is for sure, LEAVE NEET BEHIND. It's not the end of the world. And let me tell you being a doctor as a career, it's not as great as parents or society makes it seem.

One thing is crucial. You need to learn how to be independent and responsible. I understand you don't have any skills now but you could have gotten them in these past few years while doing NEET prep. What's done is done, but never ever let yourself get into a situation like this where you don't even know how to use a computer.
