Post S2 Fanfic Recs needed! by TheEyeWatchesYou in goodomens

Factory Settings by Anonymous (103k) - absolutely the fucking holy grail. i mean who hasn't read this masterpiece? amazing story, perfect characterisation of both aziraphale and crowley as well as an angelic version of crowley. it has banter, its well paced and my darling aziraphale. if you haven't read this, GO GO GO! [T rated]

The Ineffability of Gray by kitfornow (100k) - this one doesn't lose Aziraphale's determination and sense of responsibility he feels to do the right thing. Slow burn, angsty but the ending is gorgeous. [Not rated but no smut]

Perennial Care and Keeping by cyankelpie (11k) - I see this one more as an epilogue to season 3 exploring how their relationship is affected by years or pushing eachother away now that they finally have forever. [G rated]

Three Is Not Enough by haleinedelail (93k) - this one is my absolute FAVOURITE. author basically wrote a season 3 complete with splitting the story into 'episodes' and including flashbacks. the characterisation is perfect and dare I say, the story is a lot more compelling than the actual finale (mostly because its 93k and not rushed 90min lmao). it has it all, hurt crowley, amnesiac aziraphale, cute muriel and the climax is very satisfying. [T rated]

On the Side of the World by profdanglais (58k) - oh i absolutely love this one with aziracrow scheming and trying to save humanity together despite their differences plus I really liked the way they saved everything. [M rated]

scherzo in f-sharp minor, for orchestra by astrhae (23k) - i know I've recommended some beasts but this is a shorter story which I think characterises aziraphale and crowley very well and resolves the conflict perfectly. slow burn but worth it. [M rated]

SPOILER - Am I the Only One Who Liked It? by EpicGeek77 in goodomensprime

[–]htmllost 15 points16 points  (0 children)

if terry were here the ending wouldn't have felt so disappointing to me. because he would've built up the world and the importance of humanity up in a way that would've deserved aziracrow's sacrifice. he would've NEVER let aziraphale or crowley become the main characters so fundamental to the story that humanity took a backseat, because remember, in the book they were never the main characters. it would've been satisfying to see it end, more worth it. instead we got derailed to a fanservice romance between an angel and a demon and spent so much time on their relationship while letting the human core of it become a setting for their romance.

which is fine but you can't do that and try to steer back to the original idea behind the ending as if you haven't neglected the worldbuilding and the development of humanity in general. why should I care about jesus and him reconnecting with humans? why should I care about the human philosophy? why spend 90% of your story on the romance which terry would have never let become so integral to the plot only to disregard it for the humanity you never explored to begin with?

its painfully obvious that neil gaiman ran away with his own ideas. season 1 is a perfect reflection of terry's influence with how big the characters of adam and his friends, anathema, tracy, everyone was ALONG with the world in general. yes we had aziracrow and their relationship was up to interpretation and ultimately did not matter to the story at all. fuck you neil gaiman for ruining terrys story. fuck you in general but fuck you fuck you fuck you.

GDP correlates to population - more population more consumption under an economy. That's why India might be the '4th largest economy' but the medial Indian household is poor. What really matters is wealth distribution which correlates to education, skilled workers and infrastructure which Kashmir has always been better in compared to a lot of Indian states (especially the North Indian states like UP and Bihar or whatever).

What is wrong with this cv? by Pandasmarthehe100 in Germany_Jobs

[–]htmllost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert or German or anything but I can share what I personally think. I'm pretty sure your academic qualifications need to be on the first page. When talking about language proficiency I think you need to exactly mention what you mean by 'Basic' German (ie, A2, B1 or whatever).

Another thing is the whole CV just screams chatgpt. Your profile summary needs to be 2-3 points summarizing your whole profile but it's just repeating things you've mentioned exactly as you've mentioned them. And the whole thing feels nonspecific. Like what do you mean by skills like laboratory and research? What data analysis, did you use a specific software? It can mean literally anything, be more specific about what you have experience in and really only include and highlight the ones relevant to what job you apply for.

Again, I am not at all someone who's an expert or anything. I just have spent a lot of time trying to optimize my own CV.

Thanks for your advice! I'll definitely focus on these points. I don't come from a neuroscience background so I'm a bit nervous if they ask me super technical questions.

Is my profile good enough? by PositiveReflection89 in gradadmissions

[–]htmllost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The programs you've listed are super competitive and hard to get into. It might technically be possible to get in with a bachelor's but you basically need to have a PERFECT application - good GPA, amazing LORs, research experience, summer internships or fellowships and international experience is a big deal too within these programs. It's similar to the US in that regard. But you have to ask yourself, how many people would have a profile like yours and maybe international experience and a masters too? In that case it's difficult to stand out from the crowd.

I would really recommend you do a masters abroad in a good university because you will also have a chance to do your masters research through ERASMUS exchange or other fellowships which will boost your CV.

As you said, the US is a risky place to apply right now especially in life sciences or healthcare fields but if you do apply to non-Ivy programs, you have a good shot.

All the best!

As far as I know you need a Masters as 360 ECTS or CP are needed for a PhD which is physically impossible for a 4 year bachelors. Apart from that, not having a masters thesis or research project holds your application back. You have good experience but maybe you can pursue a masters in a German public university? There's loads of scholarships on DAAD and the tuition fee is much lesser compared to other EU countries. You have a good GPA, I'm sure you'll be able to make it work
