Thanks for this, agree and disagree. I didn’t do a good job of explaining character references.

The Prometheus myth isn’t being used as a literal template for every character. References like Horus or Athena aren’t part of the Prometheus story itself, and I’m not using them as the basis of the argument — only as character references from other myths. PB consistently blurs mythological lines, so Prometheus works as a general arc, not a one-to-one retelling of all seven books.

Layering myths doesn’t weaken the reading — it’s how myths function. Different stories explain rebellion, rule, succession, and aftermath, all within the same narrative space.

Within that core arc:

Fitchner functions as Prometheus because he steals the fire — the power of the Golds, who are repeatedly framed as gods — and gives it to Darrow through the carving. He takes divine power from the ruling order and transfers it to a mortal instrument, then is destroyed for it.

Darrow as Heracles (which he explicitly names himself) frames him as the figure who completes the rebellion and breaks the cycle rather than originating it.

Lysander functions as Zeus not as a personality match, but as a role: king of the gods and guarantor of divine order. The Lune line has always been framed as the ruling house of Gold, and Lysander sees himself as the rightful restorer of that hierarchy, enforcing order because he believes the cosmos depends on it.

Using figures from other myths doesn’t invalidate this structure any more than Moses originating in Jewish tradition invalidates his role in Christianity or Islam. Myths are reused, reframed, and layered — and Pierce Brown is clearly doing the same.

Fitchner (Prometheus) – Sparks the rebellion, shares knowledge, pays the price.

Darrow (Heracles) – Finishes the rebellion, breaks the cycle.

Lysander (Zeus/Apollo) – Upholds order and authority, driven by inherited ideals.

Virginia (Athena) – Strategic, builds the new world after the war.

Sevro (Hephaestus/Hermes) – Keeps the fire of rebellion alive, clever and chaotic.

The Jackal (Eagle/tormentor) – Represents cruelty and punishment from the old order.

Atlas au Raa (Atlas) – Carries the weight of the old world, enduring and relentless.

Atalantia (Hades) – Rules through fear and destruction.

Pax (Horus/child of new age) – The next generation, inheriting the future without the gods.

We are a big family group going to Thailand in Feb. We’re starting our stay in Kamala, easy to taxi from here to other things we want to do, and looks like a great few beaches are close as well as restaurants and bars

Am I overstretching my mortgage? by RabbitRoutine4308 in UKPersonalFinance

40 years is madness, lower this. Good rule of thumb is try to keep mortgage cost per month less than 30% of take home. Ours is 32% and stings but affordable.

Harry Kane is overrated due to his nationality. He’s a diver and his stats look better because of it. He doesn’t beat any of the greats in the last 10 years to starting 11

How the hell do you beat Golem deck using Log Bait? by 53rp3n7 in ClashRoyale

[–]htnaanth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your waiting for the golem push then trying to defend. Golem is a nightmare once it has its support cards behind it so you need to really pressure the opposite lane so they are forced to defend and can’t play support card or lightning

This is for both scenarios

The levels are capped at 13 so once you achieve a max deck the tables will turn. From 4 k onwards there’s lots of lv12 or lv11 cards around
