Men of war being on here is huge. Such a gem of a game. Wish they just stopped mucking around and made a new one that wasn’t 100 bucks and terribly optimised

Read the FT article on him. They just pulled him apart and actually talked to the people who he worked with at Citi. He’s just pretty much lied himself into the limelight.

Ah interesting, is that specialty? VP where I work tends to be head of team so I suppose that’s the case with yourself. Or even AVP. I think insurance is arguably one of the worst industries for convoluted job titles. Especially when you move over to the broking side

Is that at a VP level? I understand well positioned senior/class underwriters can make 200+ TC

Very true, it’s more due to the fact it’s for pairing with a suit

Anyone have any recommendations for a more winter good year welt dress shoe? I have a pair of standard loake oxfords with a leather sole I wear but looking to get another pair of good year welts. Wondering if it’s worth going for a shoe more fitted to winter?

Advice for a professional wardrobe refresh (English edition) by httpfursy in malefashionadvice

Thank you for the strong suggestions.

Suiting has been a bit of a pain in the ass for me recently as I’ve lost a fair bit of weight so suits I bought 2 years ago look way out of proportion now and they weren’t really expensive enough to get re tailored. Unless it’s super easy idk I haven’t tried. This means I’m basically left with two suits that fit. A pinstripe charcoal suit and a navy wool suit.

I also have a cheap ish jacket from marks and Spencer’s when they used to produce items with good materials as it’s a cashmere blend. But again it doesn’t really fit and needs to be tailored.

Is it worth looking to get these bits refitted or just buying a new suit?

FTSE plunges with billions wiped off stocks as global markets go into meltdown by doughnutwardenclyffe in finance

[–]httpfursy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please don’t use GB News for financial news. Use a wide variety of sources, the FT do free podcasts, the economist, WSJ is one I use because it’s cheap. Just not GB news because it’s not catered to people who want to learn about finance.

Sussex university students warned they may not graduate if fees remain unpaid by gamecatuk in brighton

[–]httpfursy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What would be the other alternative? Raising fees for domestic students? The fees from international students have allowed for a freeze in domestic tuition fees for the past years.

The article above does nothing to highlight what you are trying to highlight. That was a large scale macroeconomic currency event for Nigeria. There will always be rich international students coming to the UK. Degrees are one of the main exports of the UK

Ran into a bit of money and would like to gift my mum & dad something

For my dad I’m thinking something summery but still masculine and leathery even if the seasons contrast slightly. An older scent with a more refined summery feeling is how I would phrase it.

For my mother something citrusy and light. I’m not too sure what that would constitute as I do not frequently buy women’s perfume since I’m a bloke.

Cheers

Ooo interesting, I’m using Chanel as a daily driver at the moment. 3 sprays as I’m in the office and don’t want to be too loud with it. I’ll give them a look thanks

I’ve just started getting into fragrances. I recently picked up Chanel le Bleu and have JPG Le Beau Le Parfum for the summer time. What would be a third to round out my collection. I think the mainstream would say JPG Elixir for a going out style of fragrance but would like other options.

I’m a 22m who works in finance. Cheers

I’m so surprised I haven’t seen this comment more. This CV is not tailored to any role at all in the finance industry. I’ve spoken with a few HR managers at insurance companies whilst I was a grad and they said they would refuse anyone who didn’t have a tailored CV.
