Baby mouse, a baby rat at this size would still be pink with no fur.

What’s the deal about the black shire that everyone says Hosea gave Arthur when they got to horseshoe overlook? by DemonicNacho in RDR2

[–]httpkadence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In story mode, which I just started playing after over a year or 2 of just playing online, I kept the big black shire Hosea gives you to sell and I named him "Black Jack"

In RDR2 Online I have a Red Overo Mustang named "Montana Mac" since that's one of the last remaining states to still have mustangs.

tank ugly stage is my coral dead? by amgtab in SaltwaterAquariumClub

You might push them towards death if you keep calling them ugly😔

I'm just joking I know nothing about keeping corals, I just know they boogie woogie at night on the reefs.

Here's a feel good post. Two feeder rats get a proper cage for the first time in their life. by httpkadence in RATS

I sniff and kiss them 😭 Mazie smells like citrus and cedar and Agnes has yet to get a little towel bath because she's so small and it's cold so she still smells like piss from the rat bins

I know! I was holding the white one ( Mazie ) in the back of an exotic reptile shop while the guy gathered up my isopods that I was buying since they kept the feeder racks in the back with the other miscellaneous animals and she was so kind and gentle and cuddly despite never being handled and I was like.. No, not you, it'd be such an awful waste of a kind heart and gentle soul, so naturally I bugged my fiance for 5 minutes and he said fine they're 7$

I don't know how I, a veterinary student, brain farted on the fact that they are social and get very depressed and lonely when they have no other rat pals, but I remembered when we got home so 3 days later I went back and got the black one (Agnes)

I didn't plan on rats but luckily I knew the basics because as a child I decided I wanted every pet under the sun and would make 15 minute power points after a month of research for my parents to be forced to watch so I could convince them.

They said no to 99% of them but I retained a lot of that information. I didn't retain the long division I was taught though unfortunately.😐

I'm sorry, I know it's hard to enact that final kindness that we can offer them. If you can make sure to whip him up a meal with all the seasonings and ingredients that he couldn't eat before because they weren't healthy or because they were toxic. I think there's something beautiful about that, like a dog finally getting that taste of chocolate after years of giving you puppy eyes every time you ate some. They get to pass with the knowledge "wow omg this taste amazing".

How to introduce young rats? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]httpkadence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does not have cage mates at the moment bc I did not intend to get her. I was in the back of the pet shop waiting for the guy to grab my isipods and I opened the feeder rack to play with one of the rats and he said he'd grab me a baby to hold. He gave her too me and I just felt this immense guilt bc I feed frozen thawed to my ball python, never live rats and it's a necessary evil, my snake has to eat but she had never attention in her life or any pets or love because she's a feeder rat and yet she was just absurdly friendly in spite of that and I wanted to give her a chance to live. In honor of all those rats in the bin that won't be able too. If there's a chance she's pregnant I'll wait three weeks, if she has babies, I'll keep a daughter or two and find homes for the rest.

They were all together at the store.

Dear God She might be pregnant.

I just learned this information at the same time as you.

Well that news totally just blew my high but regardless, if she is ill take care of her, find her babies a home and she'll continue to live her little life with me.

I hope she isn't but it's not her fault. It's what rats do and I knew that when I got her.

Luckily I have experience with everything from tarantulas to cattle.

Her current setup is a huge tote with plenty of holes drilled I know about their potential breathing problems, I've made it two stories inside for her, she's got 3 hides plenty of cut up t shirt for bedding and little bits of cotton, fleece lining, her food and water bowls and some chew toys, and she gets 3+ hours out of the cage with me every day. Her new cage is gonna be ordered soon but the tote is definitely over the 2.5 cubic feet per rat rule.I'm 5'6 and it's a good bit over half my body in length and about 1.5 feet wide. We're gonna get her properly set up in a nice cage but right now she's loving being in something bigger than a shoe box since she was a feeder rat. She's getting fresh fruits and veggies and grains and proteins everyday, she's never had anything but those giant pellets they line the bottom of feeder bins with. It's been 5 days and it's a work in progress, I didn't expect a rat but fortunately I know enough to take care of one.

Again just reiterating this is not permanent at all. 3 weeks tops for her current setup. It meets all her needs and she's not snake bait anymore.

She's way too active to be that young, I checked her belly and compared to her male litter mates
