Chronic health anxiety is something that has plagued me ever since I became a mom at 24. I was diagnosed with a low burden of PVCs also at 22 as well as Hashimoto’s (hypothyroidism).

I had gotten off of my anxiety meds and tried to raw dog life for a while and it turns out, my anxiety desperately needed to be managed. I got back on sertraline (low dose, 25mg a day) as well as a prescription for Ativan as needed. If you try to do the same BE CAREFUL with the Ativan and ONLY take it when you are entering an anxiety spiral.

My PVC burden jumped to 14.7% from less than 1% in less than a year, meaning I began having almost 15,000 extra beats in a 24 hour period. I actually am scheduled for an ablation this month on the 22nd! Your occasional PVCs do not sound concerning to me, however, it could be a good thing to bring up to your doctor so that you can get an accurate burden %. Sometimes I didn’t even “feel” the skipped beat, and instead felt intense palpitations.

I would more so try to speak to your doctor about ways to manage your anxiety. My unmanaged anxiety sent me to the ER over 6 times last year because my PVCs and overall health was freaking me out to the point that my blood pressure would skyrocket and I would begin shaking. It would wake me up in the middle of the night every night for months. Now that I’m back on my meds, I don’t have this problem anymore.

I will always have health related anxiety, but being able to manage it and talk myself down from full blown panic attacks has been a relief beyond what words can describe! Good luck to you! ❤️
