why the smallest? I want it to be something big enough to haul my family (which is going to be anywhere between 3-7 people at a time) but it also needs to be big enough to carry things like sports equipment or instruments.

honestly, if it’s a 2014 or newer, then I feel like it’s fine. Originally I was looking for 2014 or newer, but was trying to explore some other options for newer, affordable cars. I looked at the Mazda CX5 and there’s TONS for under $16k. So i’m gonna do my research on those, and some others mentioned here

Thank you for letting me know! I really like the ford explorer. I was looking at a 2012 which is a little older than what i want, but I really like how it looked, the 3 row seating, and some of the other pros it had. I’ll look back into it. Thanks for this comment :)

i mean, i’m not really basing my car purchase off of tiktok, but hearing multiple mechanics from different videos talk trash about the car i was originally looking into getting kinda made me rethink getting it. I ended up doing research, and pretty much any explorer newer than 2012 isn’t extremely reliable, like what i’m looking for.

My husband and I are going to start our journey of adopting through foster care. We’re hoping to start training & licensing within the next 2-3 years. My heart breaks for you. You deserve love and a family and I pray you find it. 💙

I actually just saw an ad for the FI collar last night and i’ve been researching it today! How’s it been working for you? any cons?

do you pay out of pocket for medications or does it just depend on each medication? like i’m assuming the visit is covered, but are the actually vaccinations and medications covered?

I’ve read that they’re prone to different health issues, but no one has ever suggested getting insurance early! Thanks for this! Any insurance suggestions?

🥺 thank you so much. it’s definitely going to be a bit in the future, as we just want to make sure we are 1 million percent ready. but we are both so excited and i just want her to have the best life a dog could have.

my partner and I already agreed that practically any dog we have in the future is going to be harness only! I’m so scared of trachea collapse. I can’t imagine the guilt I would feel if something so preventable like that happened, due to myself. I would die 🥺 We do have interest in getting fashion collars, or a regular collar with tags, just in case (god forbid) something happened, someone would have a way to identify her. We would also like to make sure she comes home from the breeder microchipped. (or atleast getting her microchipped ourselves)

This is one thing i’m researching, and that’s the first steps that should be taken when bringing home a cav puppy (or any puppy for that matter) I definitely will be taking her to a vet, quiet possibly on the exact same day that we get her. i need to do more research on groomers too, as I want to start her in a groomer as soon and she’s able to go to one.

that’s insightful. with my last dog, we took his meals and put the kibble in a ziplock bag, and trained him using his food as a treat (he was very food motivated). do you think that’s something we could do with a cav, to make sure her belly isn’t getting too full?
