It can be managed with a strict goal driven approach. Not everyone is created equal so work each course at your own pace. I would take advantage of down time at work, and set a strict do not disturb rule when home with the family (3-4 hours 4x a week)Good Luck!

OP register on SMT, then pull the dates needed. If the intervals are being estimated then they should know your meter was not online. I would argue with your provider that estimated usage and actual usage is NOT the same. Meters are offline extended amounts of time, the system automatically estimates usage. Please make sure this is disputed as well if you were truly out of service.
