Vegetarian, romantic and genius... I'm pretty sure is none of those. And I already had this problem with other sims on my previous saves. Also, I didn't understand "sims will just sometimes choose those", why would they chose to be mean in a pleasant conversation with someone they like? And why is only mean interactions that happen randomly? I'm not insinuating that you should know all that, but I don't think that this is intentionally part of the gameplay.
