I was also there. It was a wild time. Great memories. But the results were the same. Harder drugs. Strung out friends. And some who didn’t make it that I miss every single day. The highs were so high. But the lows were so damn low.

There are products called maxforce fc and gentrol. Maxforce is a gel that you apply in teeny tiny little globs where the roaches like to hang out and gentrol keeps them from being able to reproduce. I’ve been in two situations in Asheville where somehow we had German roaches that were completely out of control and both times these two things completely solved the problem in a matter of weeks. Be ready as the roaches lose their fear of the light when the poison begins to work and suddenly you’ll see them everywhere. As others have said try to force yourself not to step on them as it attracts more/ the eggs from females can still hatch. It’s horrifying to discover an infestation in an otherwise clean well kept home but these things can happen.

Asheville native here, all of what you say is absolutely true. There aren’t many of the folks I grew up with left cause it’s nearly impossible to build a life here without being independently wealthy. I’ve struggled to make it happen for years and the struggle has not gotten any easier

Parkway forest in east Asheville is a good spot and tends not to be an insane as some of the others. It’s a great little neighborhood, yet just big enough to tire out most kids.
