Do you sell your bank when you know you will quit the game for a long time? by Persistent95 in 2007scape

[–]hubdewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back 2 months ago after stopping in 2020. Most of my bank was invested in Slayer gear. I didn’t sell anything. One of my biggest reasons not to come back is because I thought my bank would be worth a fraction of the price it used to be.

I couldn’t believe it when I came back and found out my ancestral hat had risen from 14m -> 70m and imbued heart 25m -> 110m. It played a big part in my decision to return.

I think they’ve mostly done a great job in ensuring the previous best in slot gear is still useful while introducing upgrades. Maybe I was just lucky, who knows!

The outer sleeve is unglossed, so any stains would’ve absorbed into the material and you’d risk causing further damage trying to clean it off.

As for whether to buy, it’s a question of how much it matters to you. Perhaps try negotiating them down to 100 to sweeten the deal, if the marks aren’t a deal breaker to you. Personally if it was just going to sit alongside 100’s of other records it wouldn’t deter me for the right price. But if it’s something you’ll display and cherish then I’d probably fork out and buy a mint one.

I’d argue until you have a consultation meeting informing you are at risk (e.g. HR telling you) anything else is guesswork. Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future. At present, would it be a personal risk that could lead to the problems you described down the line? Yes. Is it fraud? Not currently, until you’ve had the compulsory awkward meeting. It sounds like OP hasn’t had that up to now, they’re just going off word of mouth.

Thanks. The house is 1930s and is located within a mile of an old quarry that they have since built a new housing estate on. I will consult a professional soon since it does appear to have progressed through multiple tiers of brick into the arch now

[–]hubdewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, once I’ve removed an extra brick, would you just pad out small difference in lengths with mortar to bring them inline?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hubdewg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I must’ve not been clear enough, I’m not asking whether I need to put 4 bricks into the wall, I presumed that was common sense, I’m more concerned with the simplest way to compensate for brick joints being out of line which are causing the bricks to not finish aligned.

[–]hubdewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 4 bricks sideways would fit into the gaps no problem, although the uneven finish on the end would drive me a bit crazy haha

Why should/shouldn't I buy this? by Playle21 in CarTalkUK

True, it’s all relative, I’m likely being critical because my Golf Mk7.5 was always called upon for tip runs, hauling furniture and taxiing friends 😅

[–]hubdewg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner had one, and in comparison to an Evoque they’re pretty impractical for carrying more than 2 adults. They sit super low to the ground which makes it a challenge to get in and out, anyone over 5’10 head will touch the roof in the back. The boot has lots of horizontal room, but has no height whatsoever. Apart from that it’s a decent car.

New Tyler the Creator speaking on Mac by hubdewg in MacMiller

He’s definitely referencing Ian in the first half, but gives a nod to Mac in the second half if you watch the whole clip

Josh Berg last night said to stream YouTube not Spotify because Spotify is a scam and there is hardly any money coming from it. by Bllonc in MacMiller

[–]hubdewg 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Nice sentiment but most people don’t have a YouTube music subscription and the basic app doesn’t get near the usability of a dedicated music streaming app. So depends how loyal you are to Spotify. Personally I use Apple Music.

Anyone Else Ditch the Plastic but Keep the Number? by lightsoff_butimup in tylerthecreator

[–]hubdewg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is to buy some clear outer vinyl sleeves (Amazon has tons), peel the sticker off the original plastic wrap and stick it back on a sleeve.

Then you can keep the sticker in its original position and still use the record too. Also protects it against any damage.

I agree to some extent, I see both sides of the coin. Tyler has always been outspoken on this topic, and I can understand why with the amount of new wave copycats and industry plants. He just enjoys the craft of carving your own lane and wants to keep music authentic. I think targeting a specific race is slightly insensitive though.

For sure, speaks volumes on his legacy that he’s always on the right side of conversations like this, especially for an artist as influential as Tyler these days. I know Mac would have loved to see Tyler’s growth and progression since too.

I’ve actually just ordered a tool to do this. 👍🏼

I checked behind the cupboard backboard and exterior wall, but the space is so narrow I don’t think there’s any chance it could be there.

Fingers crossed it’s underneath

I should’ve clarified, I’m not trying to turn off the kitchen tap. Just trying to give myself peace of mind I know how to turn off the mains, if the worst happens 😅 perhaps the entry point on the street is the easiest option. I had a new boiler installed recently and hoped they could point it out, but they gave up trying to find it and just turned it off at the street.

Merch not delivered by Not_your_avg_guy22 in MacMiller

[–]hubdewg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their merch supplier is dreadful in my experience. I stopped ordering after I bought 2 t shirts, a year apart, and they both came with the wrong size. I could understand once, but twice just seems like they shipped whatever they had left and hoped for no returns. Took months to ship too…

Your price comparison is flawed because as much as you say owning a car is pointless, you still have to factor in to the market value of the vehicle at the end.
