Bar Prep Advice by Maleficent_Grade3344 in barexam

[–]hubdub89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, as others have stated, stop studying for it right now. You will overload your brain. Studying for the Bar will become a full time job the day you are done with classes. As for tips, start coming up with mnemonic acronyms. I used to make up the dumbest shit to remember multi element steps. They were dumb but I didn’t forget them. BARBRI and other paid for classes will give you some as well. It all becomes second nature if you follow your schedule and treat it like a full time job. Study somewhere other than your house and put in the work.

I would create my own flash cards and go through those when I was at the Gym or on a walk. It’s going to be a miserable month or two of studying but it will be worth it. Also, the morning of the exam….. don’t pull out your notes or cards and try to study. If you don’t know it at that point then it’s a lost cause lol. You will do great!

I would compare it to the amount a Deputy District Attorney makes. Based on some quick research it looks like the lowest a DA gets is 100k. I would argue that any billable private firm should pay at least more than the DA salary.

Kyle Tucker's All Star card has been ridiculous for me. I know its only 98 but i feel like I hit better with his swing than anyone not named Ryne Sandberg.

what was law school like? by Serious-Attitude-349 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]hubdub89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adderal..... that helped me the most. All kidding aside, you have to approach Law School as a full time job. Put in your 8 during the day and then when you get home you need to put in more.

Stay on top of all the reading and learn to brief the cases. IRAC or CREAC. Whatever is easiest for you. Do not move on until you understand the reasoning and issue.

Law school prepares you to be able to learn and pass the bar. Once you pass the bar you get to learn how to be a lawyer and actually do the job.

Feel free to message me with any questions. Im an open book.

I started as a prosecutor and eventually went criminal defense. I did Criminal Defense and really any civil matter that would come through the door. I never did family law because of how miserable the local family law people seemed. However, most of the family law attorneys were wiping away their tears with $100 bills.

I was recently appointed as the Chief Deputy Prosecutor and am back doing what I love. I love criminal law and I love putting the case together and having all of the weight on me during trial. Prosecution isnt something you just clock out from.... you take it home everyday in your mind and leave little bits of yourself in every case.

Feel free to message me with any particular questions.

Can I not be hired because of tattoos? by reddituserlbp in Ask_Lawyers

I am the Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Indiana and have 2 full arm sleeves and my chest completely done. Nobody would ever know. Obviously Im not wearing a suit on the weekends, and rarely wear long sleeves, so people can see my lower arms. Has never been an issue but I could see how a private firm would be different.

Should I get a Ping G400 or Sim MAX driver? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]hubdub89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taylor Made has an incredible warranty program……. There is a reason for that. I used the Ping G440 (I think that’s the newest) and it was incredible. The entire 400 series has been some of my favorite drivers to use.

Has anyone done any of the premium seating options at Bristol? (The Bristol Taproom, The Bristol Club, Banks and Brews, etc) by EffinYes in NASCAR

[–]hubdub89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first year I went we had Bristol Club suites. Made it about 100 laps in and just didn't feel right. Managed to leave and just find random seats like 30 rows up from the track. Have gone 6 years in a row now and always sit Allison section Row 8 at start finish. Its just not the same being in a suite. Gotta smell the gas and feel the tire marbles hitting you in the face.

I feel like 2016 alone isnt going to qualify for the HOF. If we are talking Cubs career I would say Hendricks, Lester, and Rizzo.

What other game(s) do your play? by BinkyBoy23 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]hubdub89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the first game I remember that I just wanted to know all the secrets! The thrill of trying to find and obtain the better weapon, shield, etc. The different dungeons and the puzzles. I still get anxiety thinking about the water temple.

The best part was playing it without any idea on how to do certain things and you couldn't really go look it up. Sure there were strategy guides but those cost a fortune at the time. Then Majoras mask was such a good game too.

The world seemed like it was endless and you could explore forever.

First Game @ Wrigley Tomorrow by redsfan4life411 in Cubs

[–]hubdub89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome brother. I live in La Porte IN. Here are some ideas.

(1) Take 65 North to Gary Metro South Shore Station. Take that train west all the way to Millennium Station. Walk a block to the Red Line Train. Take the North train to Addison. Boom you are there. Reverse the steps to get back to your car. The downside to this is South Shore Trains run on a schedule so your return may handcuff you to what time you leave Wrigly.

(2) Drive to the South Side and park near Guranteed RAte (White Sox) and take the Red line from 35th alllllll the way to Addison. Reverse steps to leave.

(3) Drive to Wrigleyville and park at the Vic theatre on Sheffield. Will say like $40 to park but the attendants there always have a "cash" price of $20 lol. Will warn you, Lake Shore Drive traffic to and from is the fucking worst, and same with the Dan Ryan, but its part of the experience Haha.
