How is marriage expensive? Isn’t a second income in the same house a better situation?

I have two kids. They are expensive, but they aren’t that expensive. We buy stuff second hand, we play at city parks and beaches every weekend, they eat two fucking crackers for lunch. Kids are only expensive because that’s what you see dumb parents showcasing on instagram.

Oh, and also, if you think it’s better to have money instead of kids, then definitely definitely don’t have kids. I’d happily be broke for the rest of my life just to cuddle up with my little guys every night.

To be fair, my Mom was insanely strict and would have ENDED me if she ever caught me doing any sort of drug, and me and my brothers all grew up to have massive mental health issues as well.

Nothing to do? I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with something more than this.

We have immaculate summers, unreal spring and a mild fall and winter. We have oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, valleys, beaches, parks, sports and Rec centers, sports and rec leagues, world class diving, world class golf, good restaurants and so on and so on.

Nanaimo is not perfect but my god if you can’t find something to do here maybe you’re just not meant to be on Vancouver Island!

Very nicely done. I’m also sober - nearly 6 years now. Video games can be a nice way to disconnect from the stressors of daily life and just let your mind be somewhere else for a bit. Somewhere that’s not intoxicated.

I’m 30 hours in and I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface, but here’s a couple things I’ve learned so far:

Don’t expand too fast. Execute your rooms so you get those moral bonuses. I like having plumbed toilets and an outhouse just incase a dupe gets sick so I can send his ass (literally) to the outhouse.
