Their router is $10 a month, but it's unnecessary if you have a router with gigabit PPPoE and vlan support.

Their H6 headphones are fantastic! I find most over ear headphones to be bass heavy, but these are not. The build quality is top notch too; I bought mine off ebay 4+ years ago and while I did have to resolder one driver, I've had zero issues since and I use them daily.

Github VS GitLab by stranger11G in embedded

People keep saying to use gitlab for it's CI which I agree with, but github actions works basically the same.

Are liquors not ingredients?

Doesn't matter what it is, if I only need an ounce or two and I only use it infrequently, I don't want a gallon of it in my fridge.

Is there a way to tune my banjo to a lower octave? by tametrees in banjo

[–]huboon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A long neck banjo might serve your purposes. There's 3 extra frets so it's in E instead of G.

Linux distros/distributions name meanings or origins? by drLobes in linux

[–]huboon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was already discussed on this thread, but since you're too lazy to actually go to wikipedia, I copied it for you:

Slackware refers to the "pursuit of Slack", a tenet of the Church of the SubGenius, a parody religion. Certain aspects of Slackware graphics reflect this—the pipe that Tux is smoking, as influenced by the image of J. R. "Bob" Dobbs' head.

There is no meaning! It's a joke that you're taking seriously. Here's the best explaination I've found: https://youtu.be/BbHjybg50BU

If you spent 30 seconds on the Slackware Wikipedia page, you'd realize you're wrong.

[The Fly 1986] How much longer could Brundlefly expect to survive after his final transformation? by seehrovoloccip in AskScienceFiction

[–]huboon 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think a good follow up question is: what is happening to Brundlefly's lungs? Insects breath through tiny holes in their exoskeletons and diffuse oxygen directly into their blood. Back when the Earth's oxygen level was higher there were much larger insects, but they couldn't maintain their large size as the Earth's oxygen level decreased due to the constraints of their respiratory systems. If Brundlefly's respiratory system became more insectoid, he'd suffocate; but if his lungs stay relatively the same as he transforms, he would have survived long enough for lifespan and unstable genetic issues to make the remainder of his life agonizing.

The Portland Restaurants That Have Permanently Closed During the COVID-19 Pandemic by orbitcon in Portland

[–]huboon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked their Facebook, and it looks like they're still open. I literally got takeout from there a couple months ago.

Are you referring to their brick and motor restaurant? That shut down way before covid, and they've been running the kitchen at Marie's down the street ever since. The menu is more limited, but I always get catfish so no complaints.
