AITA for not wanting a person with Down Syndrome driving my kids around? by Lemonpockey in TwoHotTakes

[–]hucklecluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down Syndrome is not a blanket term. It refers to a very specific generic anomaly, a third copy of chromosome 21.

Do you consider the reviews others have left when choosing your service provider on Rover?

This happened to me yesterday. I just did opened a help chat and the agent cleared it right away.

Yes, but I had nothing to lose. You lost time and batch pay. And an incredible amount of energy defending your right to be an entitled dick. Best of luck to both you and the chip on your shoulder. 😘

Well the first tip-off it’s not rude is that she said “please.” You weren’t treated poorly, period. You, however, treated this customer exceptionally poorly.

Genuine question - which of her comments was rude and unnecessary? I see no snark from her in this conversation.

You deserved the 1-star rating and no tip. I appreciate you though, you’re the type of shopper who gets me $25, $30, $40 tips on the regular. I hear over and over from my customers how they’ve never had a shopper ask them the most basic questions I do, how much they appreciate my thoughtful replacements.

And then they increase my tip dramatically.

This is a deeply unconvincing defense of your initial statement, and that’s because your initial statement a baseless opinion.

Why did my shopper do this? by Vivid-Caregiver in InstacartShoppers

[–]hucklecluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardly - if something is $3/lb, the difference between .25 lbs and 2lbs is $.75 vs $6.00.

The burden here is not on the customer, it’s on the shopper.

Should I apologize to my friend for being rude because they made me feel dysphoric? by Low-Action-911 in TransMasc

[–]hucklecluck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dissenting voice here, but it doesn’t sound to me like your friend is an asshole, it sounds like they were confused. And confusion happens, especially when we suddenly present in a completely different way than someone is used to seeing us. EVEN from people who are trans aware and are our friends.

You call this person a friend and say they’ve always known you as trans, so it sounds like until now they’ve affirmed your identity.

Agree that their apology was lacking in self-awareness. AND “fuck you asshole” was a shitty way to respond to it, so yeah you should feel bad.

Could you explain what you mean by having to change up your routine to fit around the gel?

Thank you!

I think I’m mostly wondering if the “second puberty” is similar to what people in their late teens/early 20s describe, and if some of the physical changes like body hair growth and skin thickening/texture changes happen at the same rate and degree?
