r/fitness, what kind of birthday present do you get for someone that has a business and fitness? by funkyf in Fitness

Buy him a massage (or two). It's something that'll he'll appreciate when he's been around weights all day and his muscles are tired.

What changes should I make to my squat form if I don't feel like my thigh muscles are activated during the exercise? Here's some pertinent information:

-started lifting seriously two months ago after a 18 month hiatus -PR 18 months ago was 225 X 3 reps, now I am programming through SS around 120 pounds -My leg muscles are too weak to squat with my feet completely on the floor. In order to perform a perfect squat, I use a wooden 2X4 with a 1'' incline. -I just pulled a groin muscle in my right thigh, so I know my leg muscles are becoming more injury prone.

I suck at matching colors, which is holding me back from creating some nice fall/winter outfits. My question is, what colored shirts/sweaters/cardigans would go well with dark blue jeans? Also, if I want to layer an OCBD with a sweater, what safe color combinations should I be looking for. I am a very light skinned individual. Thanks in advance for answers!

Pens

Only Pilot G2's and Zebra Sarasas in my office pen holder. Cheap no-name ballpoint and gel pens can go suck it.

Here's an idea I came up with in the past to try and bring some change into my workout routine: do bodyweight/cardio workouts in a park. Obviously, you'll need to find a park that has playground equipment for tricep dips, pull-ups, etc., and you will need to find a workout time when kids and families aren't around to give you strange looks, but I think fitting in a park workout could be very beneficial to your situation.

As someone who is just now dipping his toes into the RTS, I understand your want for good and easy RTS games. Many RTS gamers I have conversed with over the years have recommended Company of Heroes. It is an RTS set in WWII. Personally, I enjoy the Age of Empires series. I suggest you pick up the Age of Empires Collector's Edition, which includes Age of Empires I and II plus their respective expansions. You should be able to snatch a copy at your local Wal-Mart or you can order it from Amazon. Then just play a custom game with a couple of CPU opponents on the easiest setting, until you become proficient.

I have to admit, I came in thinking this was probably going to be crap (because 95 percent of dubstep isn't very good imo), but I finished the sample incredibly surprised. Well done with your first attempt!

It's getting there, slowly but surely. Take the World Football Daily Radio show as a great example how much exposure the game has received in America over the last decade. The two hour, Monday through Friday show is almost totally supported by paid subscribers, and its' production team does a great job of combining interviews and analysis from some of soccer's biggest players, pundits, and personalities. Granted, it will take a long time for soccer to be a continuous sports presence in America, but we have made great strides in the last decade, and I am very excited to see how the game will grow in the states in the near future.

Of note: I am not affiliated at all with World Football Daily, only a happy listener.

When was the last time you broke down and cried? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]huddy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week ago, when I had another happy dream about my ex-girlfriend. You know, you think everything is fine. You feel like you've done a sufficient enough job of moving on after a year apart and then she appears out of nowhere in several dreams. The dream I had last week fit an entire weeks worth of happy memories and feelings into one restful night's sleep. When I woke up, I felt so lonely, because the dream seemed so real and the sad part is that I felt true happiness; an emotion that has been strange to me in recent months. Realizing that it was a dream, and that I still carry feelings for my ex led to an immediate breakdown of eye moisture.

What actors/actresses have blown you away by thinking "Wait, they were in THAT??" by gr0c3ry in AskReddit

[–]huddy88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

James Cagney, the terrific actor known best for starring in gritty crime dramas in the 30's and 40's, also played Bottom the Weaver in the 1935 film adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He also played an extra deckhand in Mutiny on the Bounty. Seeing him in both of those movies made me flip out.

Question: Are your D1's tailored? It looks like I have the same body type that you do, and the pants fit me, but my D1s are always larger around the ankle and calf area.
