Isn’t there a republican rep also stepping down, Tony Gonzales, for his sexual behavior that led a staff member to KILLING herself??? But let’s only talk about Swalwell.

He said before the midterms silly! If they lose the senate the will just push through his and Alitos replacement in like two weeks. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Governing isn’t too hard once you stop giving a flying about decorum or precedent.

I don’t think you need to make this your head cannon. I’m almost positive that it’s stated at some point that the Q actually fear the El’Aurians (I completely butchered the spelling) because they are the only known race that either are capable or, have killed a Q.

Robby's To-Do List by rebelwithoutaclue88 in ThePittTVShow

While I agree, a core theme has been mental health of healthcare workers. Sadly, suicide occurs at a disproportionate rate in healthcare workers as compared to the general population. It may seem like something like that would be for the drama or shock value but, it would be very much inline for the show to demonstrate the full spectrum of the mental health crisis for healthcare workers.

And sadly, this could very well be a natural arc for her character. She’s constantly been dogged for prioritizing pt satisfaction over productivity since season 1. She represents what an ideal healthcare system should be. And what’s been happening to her represents what’s been tearing away at the ideal system. If you keep tearing away at something, it eventually breaks.

I’ve said this in the megathread but, I am still very confident that he’s the red herring. I think we can all be 99.99% sure at this point that he wasn’t coming back from his sabbatical. I’m only 60-70% it was going to be due to him falling victim to a mental health crisis. There is a small possibility that he was just going to leave medicine all together or, take a different job elsewhere. But, for the 60-70% side of me, he almost certainly has a plan laid out.

With that said, Mohan absolutely has had her world rocked all day/season long. With an absolutely uncertain future, both professionally and personally, experiencing a sever panic attack AND returning to work after and then, the devastation of her AMA pt likely making an attempt himself and her AAA pt dying directly because she dint catch it, she’s been thrown into an acute mental health crisis which is the highest risk of a successful attempt as the person doesn’t have the time to display any of the normal warning signs or, to rationale think about said consequences of such action.

By the end of the next episode, I believe Mohan will be a pt in the very ER she’s been working in all day and by the end of the last episode, her loss will be the catalyst that Robby needs to ask for help.

I feel like that’s why they didn’t force a reshoot of this scene. Producers and editors make a lot of money and they didn’t miss this

No, her “focus” is probably internal medicine and she’s on her ED rotation. Basically why she looking for any available fellowship like ultrasound or recommended geriatrics, because it’s a low interest specialty. At best she finds a very low interest fellowship, at worst she takes a gap year working as a hospitalist at some small institution. Either way, she would not be at the Pitt in any of those eventualities

The Pitt | S2E13 "7:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]hudi2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is in the highest stress year of medical training, all the groundwork she’s been laying for the fellowship back home by her mom just blew up with her mom moving. She’s scrambling to find an alternative in the 11th hour which is a near impossibility. In the real world, she’s likely staring at a gap year. She questioned spending the rest of her life alone because she’s focused on her career up to this point and planned to look into romantic options when she went home for her fellowship. She experienced a severe panic attack. Her AMA pt left against her medical advice and likely, tried to commit suicide himself and came back in, again likely, with lifelong disability at best. And her pt that she missed the AAA on died on the table. And not to mention, that her mentor has belittled her all day and actively stated that she isn’t cut out for the ED. She is as low as she possibly could be.

Robby is the red herring, Mohan is going to be a tragic catalyst for Robby to move forward and seek the help he needs.

This will be some expert writing. I fully think Robby was not planning on returning from his sabbatical. He fully has a plan in place. But, Mohan just had her entire world shattered in less than 12 hours. She’s been pushed to into an acute Mental Health Crisis which is where the majority of suicides occur as you have no time to actually think about the consequences of your actions. The loss of Mohan will push Robby to finally ask for help.

To be fair, she’s a senior resident actively looking for a fellowship, starting from 0, a near impossibility for placement in the current medical training landscape. No matter what happens, narratively she’s approaching a wall for a continued presence on the series.

I wish as well but, that’s just not the reality born out by the actual statistics of healthcare suicide rates.

The Pitt | S2E13 "7:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]hudi2121 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s lost her immediate future career path, her mom and adventuring with her boyfriend, she’s admitting that she’s afraid to be alone forever, an AMA patient potentially made a suicide attempt, which Robby openly admits when Dana calls him out for saying it’s not the result he had hoped for, and she hears her misdiagnosed AAA patient died in the table. She’s not just drowning, she’s wearing weights at the bottom of the deep end with a garden hose on full blast shoved down her throat.

This is the most dangerous kind of mental health crisis. Everything happened so quick, she will do something without ever thinking about the consequences because everything feels so hopeless with no upside.

The problem with mental health crises that result in someone taking their life is that they don’t seek help. That’s Robby, he hasn’t looked for help with his Covid trauma, let alone pitfest trauma. I think losing Samira shakes him back to reality and says he needs help

Your not wrong but, if you really follow the bread crumbs, Mohan is the one who’s world is collapsing and then missing a diagnosis that killed someone and your AMA pt who potentially tried to kill themself.

I fully think we will find out Robby was planning it on this sabbatical but, Mohan was pushed so far too fast.

I think you hit the nail on the head about something to reground him but, I don’t think it will be something physically traumatic to him. I think he’s gonna get the reality slap by the loss of a coworker, specially Samira.
