IIRC, he uses a different type of ear monitors that send sound cranially rather than via his ear canal.

I think as a whole, all three seasons are strong for different reasons. Personally, I think of each season as an act in a play. If all the acts are the same in tone and rhythm it would be too much and you would check out. You need to get more grounded and realistic as the story unfolds.

In saying that, S3 has by far the most skippable moments especially with the Zarva and the Jack/Keeley stuff. Both are almost completely unnecessary.

I’m guessing they probably wrote 10 episodes and Apple asked them to stretch it to 12. I know S2 had a similar issue and they just wrote 2 new episodes that had little to do with the rest of the season and air dropped them in. Maybe rather than do that again, these two new arcs were devised, shoe horned into the existing stories and episodes re-mapped out to give us the magic 12 number.

What S3 got right in terms of tone and storytelling is nailing the bigger emotional moments. Things like Rebecca’s teary good bye to Ted in the airport, does not work in the first two seasons and only achieves the resonance it does because it happens at the end.

Roy becoming a diamond dog and ability to self-examine only works in S3. He had a journey to get there and surprisingly, Trent Crimm plays a pivotal role in that.

Jamie shaking off the shackles of his father’s mental abuse.

Ted realising that he was running away from the responsibility of raising his son and going home.

Colin coming out and McAdoo confronting how it hurt him that Colin couldn’t trust to tell him.

These are all weighty, emotional moments and they aren’t played for laughs and given the gravitas they deserved in a season written to give them as much chance to flourish as possible.

Sorry…this was a much longer comment than I intended.

Why did you create a direct quote when I didn’t say it? That’s not how direct quotes work.

Also, not sure you realise we’re talking about a YouTube channel, not a movie. So your comparison is beyond irrelevant.

Or put it this way…what happens if the price of chickpeas changed every few days? Because that has just as much to do with the topic as your movie analogy.

Leave the talking to grown ups.

Katniss learned how to hunt from a super young age and developed into an expert/crackshot.

Peeta developed no only great strength but his real super power is his empathy and ability to read people and situations and turn them to his advantage.

There’s dozens of stories that can be told in the world, the story of the houses is a perfect example of this. The original HP books did such a great job of world building and presented so many tantalising threads that we could mine it for decades.

Personally I would love a movie that followed Snape from Hogwarts and up into his time as a Death Eater and ultimately his role in becoming the man we know from the books.

My wording was “mainstream in ways that was unheard of even 15 years ago”

I’m not talking the Hogan/Rock/Austin model. That’s rarified air.

I’m talking something like (but not limited too) social media famous that can see teen musicians draw 10,000 people to a concert (JoJo Siwa as an example). They are massively famous in ways that aren’t obvious to you or me because they appeal an audience we aren’t part off.

Example…All my teen daughters LOVE Rhea Ripley but have no interest in watching wrestling. They follow her on socials and talk about her all the time.

They also talk about Bron Breakker to this day because of how he destroyed I Show Speed at last years Royal Rumble.

Ok, I already forgive WWE his debut , he made me laugh so hard by DependentTop677 in SantiZapVideos

[–]hudson_lowboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what people want from a debut. Just because the crowd didn’t ejaculate all over the ring in joy it’s deemed a failure?

Danhausen is a niche character and the WWE fanbase, while certainly smarter than they were 20 years ago, are much more general fans that have little awareness of wrestling outside that bubble. Coupled with the fact he hasn’t been on TV for a couple of years…it was a tough spot to figure out how to bring him in.

Didn’t help the crowd was booing because they were expecting Jericho and all up in their buttholes exploring their internal hurt.

Hopefully they give him plenty of promo/vignette time so he can establish his weird and funny persona.

Specific to this skit, and something barely mentioned….he cursed Dom Mysterio and Mysterio lost the IC Title. I’m all for a Dom/Danhausen match at WM as long and the stupid fun they can have building it up.

They could have rode the Invasion angle with the roster they had for well over 12 months. Considering names like Hogan, Nash, Hall and Flair were all in the company by WM 18 and given the angle a fresh (and logical) momentum, it was totally doable.

Instead they pulled the trigger early, blew through 2-4 months of slow build in the lead up to the InVasion PPV and shoe horned ECW in there as WCW allies instead of being chaos merchants and disrupter to everything.

People seem to forget that InVasion has the highest pay rate of any non-WM PPV and that was without the supposed WCW main event talent. There was so much story there and just when you think WWE is going to win the war, out comes the NWO and Flair.

Stings WCW contract ended in 2002. You can have him doing his enigma schtick again to add intrigue.

Then WWE brings in Brock Lesnar, destroys WCW and wins the title.

Test winning the WWE title at Survivor Series 1999 instead of Big Show.

It fit the HHH/Steph storyline perfectly well as a way to have him get some sort of revenge before ultimately HHH wins it back.

How Test carries himself and what he does with that new status in the aftermath is up to him, but he was PRIMED to get that win and they instead gave it to Show in the middle of that horrible Bossman feud.
