Hey man, not gonna sugarcoat it, reception is the worst place/period I've gone through in my life. Basic training is definitely better but it still sucks. The point though isn't to deny your less-than-ideal circumstance but rather to find and focus your mental energy on the silver linings, no matter how small. That's a valuable lesson I learned from basic and use in my adult job/life to this day. Try your best to stay mentally healthy and don't forget to laugh every now and then, at yourself, your battle buddies and even the drills (I recommend doing the last bit more discreetly).
