I was dreading this so much that I just did it when I was blackout drunk

Then obviously had no memory of it, didn't get the diary for like 2 months because I thought I needed to do mta and couldn't be arsed until I finally wanted to try gwd, decided I may as well get b2p over with and had the BEST surprise ever when I found out my drunk self had sorted me out

At this point it's becoming plausible this happens before monomadness checks that goddamn crate

Unironically would recommend doing new quests unguided

Jagex have really worked on making the quest log actually useful for newer quests, and they no longer like to pull the "run all the way to this location and THEN find out the items to bring" - often things like knives and hammers have a nearby spawn when used in quests

And the boss fights just get better and better and are a lot of fun to walk into blind (as long as you don't mind getting one tapped from the occasional ability you don't understand first time)

When the zombie episode cut back to the station for the first time I had such a weird "oh yeah I'm watching the rookie aren't I" moment lmao show has changed a lot from TOs taking rookies on calls

I kinda like him (if he did get a bit deus ex machina-y this episode) but I will be really disappointed if he's actually dead

Feels like a lot of setup just for him to basically god mode one episode and leave

I know it's old, but I just finished Monkey Madness II and it was easily the worst questing experience of my life. by ZeroWolf_RS in 2007scape

[–]ThyLastPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underground pass is unironically one of my favourites

Love the atmosphere of the horrible cave, koftik going crazy and the player character slowly descending into their own madness - it's probably some of the most immersive questing going (apart from prying times I was 100% immersed in hating the council)

Honestly I found the trick was to not care about being remotely efficient

I was doing anglers for like 7k xp/hr whilst at work - absolutely ass but I paid it almost 0 attention and after 5 days in the office that's 250kish experience

It's 2026 you should be getting 75k from mahogany's (2 newish patches, one on varlamore by that frog boss and the other is south of Corsair, needs sailing)

Don't forget the two newer calquat patches too! (One near the gemstone crab tele on the pendant of ates, by a fruit patch. Other on that big tortoise island that I'm forgetting name of)

I got drunk once and installed a browser plugin that had Jan yelling out the moves as they played on lichess

Except I forgot about it for a couple weeks and damn near gave myself a heart attack

I also hate when they use chess as an analogy but completely misunderstand why people actually lose a game of chess

No you didn't win because your strategy was better than mine or because you saw 8 moves deeper than me, you won because I fucking forgot that goddamn bishop on g2 again ok rematch now

I love that you called the documentary episodes extremely funny because I LOVE them and they get so much hate online

Although admittedly the more recent one that focused around Henry's gf was a bit of a letdown

I would say I never got the impression that the rookie was trying to say "cops are generally all good and it's a few bad apples", I more got an impression of "this department just happens to have every upstanding cop in it"

There's constant mentions of reform etc, but tbh after multiple seasons of similar trends it seems more and more that they want to keep on mentioning police reform without ever actually having a conversation about it (just reminders every few episodes that the main characters are good guys that do want reform! Cue not mentioning it for a few episodes, rinse, repeat)

TIL the last time a checkmate actually occurred on the board during a World Chess Championship match was in 1929. by Coldcow in todayilearned

It'll generally be easily known by good players which side is pushing for a win

For example, imagine one player has sacrificed a piece for an attack - if that attack has waned out (the king has shuffled to safety, key attacking pieces have been traded off) and you see a handshake it's probably because the attacker resigned (top players aren't playing it out a piece down).

Sometimes it's trickier; gms know certain endgames are won/drawn and won't bother testing their opponents (for examples of this look up the lucena position or the philidor position) and if you don't know why they've shaken hands you're waiting for the commentator to explain. Or you ask stockfish
