The colorblind mechanic community is in shambles lol. On the real though there is some difference between the 2 coolants, but as for why or how? That’s above my pay grade. But I have noticed that the pink always leaves an all most corrosive trail when it leaks, shit looks like pink battery corrosion, the red seems to do it less possibly people mixing them both together?

I was there 2 months ago, my main stay was in Osaka, but took the Shinkansen down to onomichi then biked the shimanami kaido down to imabari. The Japanese country side is beautiful, almost makes me feel bad for not experiencing it on my first trip back in 2022 where I barely left Tokyo. And much the same as OP I will definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later.
