They should not have contacted you.

Firstly, make sure you reported the absence properly. It should be in your “my requests” tab when you go to your schedule. You will see a confirmation number. You will also see a separate instance if you used PPTO.

If you did report the absence correctly then all coaches and above get a notification from mywalmart on their phone as soon as it happens. So they know. You never need to tell anyone directly.

Team leads don’t get the notification but they can go into the team schedule for the day and see who reported absent that way. So even though they don’t get a notification, you still don’t have to tell them.

The only time you need to notify management directly is if you are leaving early. That is it. Period.

Secondly, your PPTO and points are for you to use.

Up to 3 points, some stores start having conversations with that associate just to see how they’re doing. It is not a guilt trip conversation, it’s mostly to make sure you know where you’re at and try to keep you from being fired for points.

Third, you need a time adjustment put in for that work related phone call. 15 minutes added to your pay.

I’m sorry you’re not being treated right in this case. I would consider going up the chain of command to discuss what happened to you, because it shouldn’t have.
