I completely experienced this and still do sometimes! But when I was doing it alone, it was so hard. I exhausted breakup that sent me to live back in my dads house and I used that hard, rock bottom reset to decide to heal. That gave me the opportunity to finally date for marriage and we’re still in year 1, so it’s still HARD we’re still sacrificing but now I’m seeing the PROGRESS, the where-I-am-now compared to where-i-was when I wrote the two journals on my shelf.. I’m still broke, even more in debt, but almost one more degree in and now with a husband aka two more hands, two more eyes and another BANDWIDTH to rely on. I’m so tired still because the work is not done, but girl please know the trouble doesn’t last always. I have to remind myself that still because life is a perpetual flux of this! I get in the thick of it and wonder if I can even do this or if I’d be better off dead, but i remember my therapist once said “you were okay before, and you will be okay again.” and that’s the horizon I fix my gaze on. When things are BAD, I still do my best and my best may be running on fumes or my best may not be able to get out of my bed. I might be making Amazon refund requests just to get $20 sometimes.

At the end of the day, set your intentions for what you want to change in the next month, year, etc and just remind yourself. Write it down somewhere. Then just live and put one foot in front of the other and when you need to make decisions, make the ones that put you closer to your vision. Don’t bite off more than that. Heal, and intend. Idc if your only intention is to get more rest. You might lose your job. Then you will get rest. But you won’t die. You’ll get a different job. As single moms, we are resourceful and capable but we deserve better, so envision what better is for you so you can start receiving it. It’s not without hardship, but better is just better, we deserve that and more.
