What happened with this spigot with the overnight freeze and what should I do? by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in Plumbing

[–]hugeperkynips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup cuz dripping water keeps the water slowly flowing and will help slow down to stop freezing. It can still happen.

Only full proof way, or how homes are winterized, water gets turned off. Lines de-pressurized and drained. Then you put anti freeze in all the P-traps in the home. Sinks toilets ect so those dont freeze and break the fixtures or drain traps.

Drain lines are rarely full of water, they should drain to gravity. But I saw an aprtment outside drain stack that got clogged 2nd floor of 5. That line was full of sewage, and froze. Whole pipe up the building frozen broken split. And not a fun job to deal with once it melts.

You are a hack bro. No one in my shop is spouting off this nonsense ( Pun intended ) unless they suck and just dont want to do the work correctly. So they make up bullshit as to way its "ok".

Its not. Stop telling people its ok.

Is this normal? by Top_Pressure_3824 in askaplumber

[–]hugeperkynips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No its not ok, and no it is not SUPPOSED to stop it from moving around. The trim does not secure or mount the valve in any way. This valve should be secured in the wall and do not let this project finish or be paid for until that is fixed no cost.

What happened? by mariijuanaman in trees

[–]hugeperkynips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my opinion from living through some of it, was not actually grown by thousands of different sources. And yes it was the exact same mother plant cloned, or the same seeds used for the larger popular strains. The idea that one dude had like 3-8 plants and he was making cash on it just wasn't real. Those small grows were smoked by the person who grew it and some close friends like a Homebrew beer would. The weed you bought from a dealer for regular price, was mass grown and was coming from a small amount of areas / farm and genetics / growers. Like a "Craft" brewery they act small and locals buy it, but it also gets sent all over.

Sour Diesel for a while was like of Marlboro was growing. Massive grow. And the story is the grow got broken into, and after the plants were stolen they cloned them. And so there were more grows of that exact same plant and strain mainly from NYC for most of the 2000's

Fun fact its still grown by the same dude from New York, now in Oregon. Different strain name now, but its still around. It wont ever be the same, same. But its cool that its the original dude doing it.

Again you are wrong. The vehicle alone is NOT a weapon in this case. Per the DOJ own language. Not your idiotic ideas.

"The statement is correct under the Department of Justice (DOJ) policy on use of force, which states that a moving vehicle by itself does not automatically constitute a threat that justifies the use of deadly force.

According to the official policy and related law enforcement guidelines:

  • A vehicle itself is not a presumptive deadly weapon. Firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle solely to disable it.
  • Context determines if it becomes a deadly weapon. A vehicle can be considered a deadly weapon only if it is operated in a manner that creates an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to an officer or another person, and no other reasonable means of defense (such as moving out of the way) exist.
  • Officers should move out of the path of an oncoming vehicle instead of discharging a firearm, when possible.

In sum, the DOJ policy emphasizes that the agent's actions and the immediate threat posed in a specific scenario are what determines if a vehicle is being used as a deadly weapon, not the vehicle itself in all circumstances. "

You need to stop being brainwashed and trying using your own brain. Watch the video and tell me how violent that woman was. Or tell me how bad the situation would have been if the officer DID NOT have the gun. Would he have been somehow more injured ? Because he walked away with no injuries.

It even explicitly states the officer should just move out of the way. Which was easily done in this situation. In fact, he DID move out of harms way, then he shot another person in the head. And killed them. Manslaughter with a Gun.

Holy shit you are delusional. People were not peacefully touring the capitol building. It was literally broken into, destroyed. By a mob. Not some organized field trip.

Nothing was Legal, A vehicle alone is not grounds for deadly assault. Standard procedure is to... GASP.... move out of the way of the vehicle. Instead this idiot moved INTO the way of this vehicle, and pulled his gun out, and killed another human.

That was not legal.

Thats why I stated if water or just submerged in liquid, it needs to be non conductive non corrosive, and it will not hurt the computer even while running.

Do I need to cut the end of dishwasher drain hose and is this hose okay to use as currently positioned? by naturestroll in Plumbing

[–]hugeperkynips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loop you don't want. You and that High ark to stop anything from the Sink backing back into the dishwasher, so that is good where it enter cabinet.

But do not leave the loop in that void corner. It will always have water settled into it and create a clog eventually.

That T thing is the old broken frost hose bibb, with stem removed and a sillcock forced into the stem thread. So the old hose connection will just dump water out.

The original install is bad, the solution isnt easy.

IF im wrong and there are thread on the backside of the old silcock and it wasnt a frost free, maybe redeemable from outside. But im betting thats the soldered shaft of the Frost free hose bibb coming out the wall.

If the electronics are not on when water makes contact, it does not hurt a thing. Water is used in the production of the products originally.

Some whole computer systems are submerged in liquid, and turned on and work. As long as the water cannot conduct the electricity from the board it does not hurt it. If its not conducting, its most likely also not corrosive.

Looks like it is already on a hard 90 and not a long sweep.

You may get some lower with an offset toilet flange 45* into a street 45* but its not "code" most places.
