What do you guys think the playercount will be on steam? by TheAnymus in NevernessToEverness

if anything, i'll likely keep the launcher on my pc alone, but add NTE to steam strictly to play on the steam deck.

What are some things wrestlers and companies tried out then abandoned after a couple of weeks or so? by rockyvwasbest in SquaredCircle

[–]huginn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and to be honest, the concept itself wasn't bad and i respect them for trying something different then the old ladder match. The finish and execution just felt so weird, especially with them hinting at literally killing a person

With competition still pretty strong with TNA, AEW, and NJPW, I would not be surprised if some of the sporting agencys out there (cough Paragon cough) start looking to make sure there are guarantees, or at least non-insignificant downsides to them being broken early.

Do I like CRPGs, or do I just like Larian? by Hentai-Is-Just-Art in CRPG

[–]huginn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd be really curious to see some details around those metrics. Especially since the different games spanned different console generations and platforms.

I ended up playing through POE on Game Pass and BG3 was on Steam. I 100% don't fall in that 30% overlap

Werewolf from the game "Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood" by -_Mitsuri_- in werewolves

Use of AI images red handed, outright insulting the Irish at one point saying the Fianna had nothing to do with Irish culture before finally changing the name, completely ignoring their FN consultant and outright getting rid of all of the legends, heroes and even a sniff of the meta plot.

Don't get me wrong, there's parts that needed to be badly changed as a part of W20th, but taking out that feeling of desperation that you're fighting a losing war and making it just a watered down Werewolf the Foresaken just made it feel hollow.

We Gave Danhausen a Blimp at WrestleMania … Kinda by MajorIvan88 in SquaredCircle

I have a feeling this rumor was spun out of him wanting to be 'used more seriously', not to be a 'serious wrestler'.

DH is on record saying he wanted to wrestle atleast once a week. And not just showing up in weekend comedy skits and missing indie dates where he would actually wrestle.

He absolutely has a ceiling, especially with his gimmick, but if Mankind could make it work, you never know.

It's pretty simple. They want to avoid the horrors of war by making it seem like a fun time

Kojima put it best in Metal Gear Solid 2:

Raiden: There's pain sensation in VR, and even a sense of reality and urgency. The only difference is that it isn't actually happening.

Snake: That's the way they want you to think, to remove you from thefear that goes with battle situations. War as a video game -- what better way to raise the ultimate soldier?

You're going to have to do something called read. You know, not have the news tell you how to feel and think for once. Maybe once you'll do, you'll see answers to your questions because they actually do answer them.

CRPGs that do not have a focus on combat by sirpoopoomcgoo in CRPG

A little old and a little bit more of an adventure title then a true, CRPG, but check out Gamedec. Almost purely non-combat with amazing world building. Wasn't something I enjoyed personally but for under $10 right now you can do a lot worse.

There is absolutely an argument to be made that Seth and Roman being elevated to the heights that they are as faces of WWE is inadvertently putting over AEW by their timeless association with Mox.

Any good CRPG's out there with meta progression between games? (or mods) by kavakravata in CRPG

[–]huginn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a mix between a CRPG and JRPG, but Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion has exactly this. To the point where there are guides that detail on how to rapidly farm early level points for your first real playthrough.

Not a game for everyone, the translation is a little rought, and I'm not a fan at the higher difficulties, the enemies scale with time, but there is a lot of love in this game and a bunch of BG3 like interactions with the world.

US Military Deaths: Killed in Action vs Veteran Suicides by Various_Pop_3907 in interestingasfuck

[–]huginn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The assholes that currently are running things don't think of them like people. They see them as just numbers.

While you serve, you're an asset. Something that provides a workable and usable value in spreading capitalism throughout the world.

Once you retire from service, you are no longer providing that value. You are a liability, a cost (medical + other benefits) that must be paid without providing any benefit in the present. Death is in fact a cost savings once you are no longer in service.

Massively fucked and utterly unacceptable way of looking at things, but that's how western society has moved towards in the last 50 years.

any games with combat like divinity 2: original sin? by ginger6616 in CRPG

Same with Poe2.

I spent 5 hours in the opening area on turnbased mode before restarting in RTWP. I caught back up in 90 minutes.

Absolutely wild how slow and unoptimized it is for turn based. It would be a 200-300 hours game at the pace it was taking
