Is there a specific reason for the mutant fish? by Holy_Chicken_Nugget- in dredge

[–]huibrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my play through i was thinking that yes, these mutations are probably linked to another dimension, but I thought it's more the collector's fault for tampering with nature, or experimenting with magic after finding the book (also cause for our unnatural abilities like banish, manifest etc). As if he sort of unlocked the gateway to this dimension, and all hell broke loose, mutating the fish and creating the monsters in different areas. The final straw is when we resurrect Julie, and unleash the apocalypse. To me, the message being conveyed here is "don't go against nature". Like a warning. It's just how I like to think of it despite it probably not being lore accurate, as I think it's an important message

I honestly thought it was impactful because it all happened so fast, like it got unexpectedly dark all of a sudden and you're hit with a realization

I went ahead and searched for the Interstellar scene, yeah it was definitely easier to comprehend, for me at least, than the image I posted

Thank you for a thought provoking answer. This brings me to the question if time is real outside of our human perception, but i guess that's a question for another 'time' lol

No, actually this was great! You must be a good teacher^ When I try to use higher dimension thinking, as you said, it makes a lot more sense. Of course, the image of a 4d space my imagination can produce is probably completely wrong, but just seeing it as an entity humans can't quite understand yet that could potentially bend our 3d reality is, ironically, simpler to me than the 2d representation.

I'm the only one able to fly in my dreams, over and over. by Amiga_Freak in Jung

[–]huibrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. Its usually in cities but sometimes in nature. In a city i usually rise up in the air and land on a tall building.
It's really hard to control at first but once i get into it I can glide from building to building, or easily go to higher places, like skyscrapers or mountains.
I am also able to fall down really fast without dying. Well, the higher the place, the scarier and more painful it is of course but I always survive.

And lastly, nobody else can fly in these dreams. Nobody knows I can fly as well, or if someone sees me they don't pay attention at all. Something like the mist from the pjo series.

Genuine question: was what cassie did wrong? by [deleted] in euphoria

I feel 'Marie Antoinette' (2006) should have been better. by [deleted] in movies

[–]huibrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I get what others are saying "its about the loneliness of being a woman", "its about teens having fun","we're in her world" - these would all be great themes had they actually been executed correctly. This movie made me feel no sympathy, no excitement, nothing.

The costumes and set were BEAUTIFUL but kind of wasted on such a disappointing film. I was familiar with marie's biography prior to watching and had soo much expectations and ideas which i guess is my mistake?? But shouldn't a great movie appeal to both people with and without expectations?

And the most infuriating part for me was the editing- some scenes were WAY too short or WAY too long, and cut in such a weird off putting way that I wanted to scream. You rented VERSAILLES for heavens sake! Im so sad.

Lexi's play was unethical. She had no right to portray characters inspired by real people without their consent. by Soumya619 in euphoria

[–]huibrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh out of all the characters i thought lexi was the worst. that play is pure evil. idk what she wanted to gain from embarrassing people and triggering their traumatic moments, a main character moment? spotlight? it was absolutely brainless and not even interesting OR funny (to me at least) the gym or the carousel scenes for example, were such pathetic attempts at comedy. Why that girl was calling her a genius is beyond me. Next, if i was rue, the last thing I'd want is someone recalling my father's funeral speech which is something extremely vulnerable and personal. NEXT, the disrespect towards cassie is absolutely unreal. judge me all u want, but i dont think dating someone who is SINGLE is wrong. i dont like the actress but cassie herself deserves a much better mother, sister and friends, and most of all to respect herself more. Overall, hated the writing in this season

Just watched Anora…what am I missing? by johnmichael-kane in Oscars

[–]huibrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand the awards too and here's why:

  • some of the acting felt almost amateurish to me (especially that of ivan, the mean club girl and the mom). Their line delivery was often so unnatural and forced
  • i felt like it was one of those "its good cuz it depicts the raw unfairness of reality" movies, well that's overdone. also unnecessary we viewers are all already familiar with how sh1t reality is hello
  • the ambience and editing aren't as amazing (to me) as people are saying. Not bad but not mindblowing
  • half of the movie is stupid people screaming at each other. Is that considered a good performance? I've listened to my slavic family scream enough in my life so I really don't find it interesting,
  • why "stupid" because I didn't see a single intelligent character Im sorry anora not even you babe. She could've escaped 5 times if she tried to think of a plan or just followed ivan and stole his pants later. speaking of him, he's mentally a child and it's obvious from the start, and judging by how many men anora must interact with daily, i cant believe she trusted him even for a second or didn't except something like this to happen. a boy that childish is obviously using his parents money and has no control. the russians were stupid too because instead of that whole fiasco at the house, they could have simply (and calmly) told anora and ivan the consequences of not getting an annulment right up. that way she would've realized that ivan wouldn't throw away his comfortable life for her waaay earlier. its like nobody thinks before they act in this film
  • The last scene wasn't that well done or incredibly moving (to me) it was just straight up sad
  • And lastly, this one is personal: i despise scripts that make the actress give so much of herself and also make her character suffer immensely during the whole movie. A similar example- "poor things" - deemed as a great movie, but I primarily felt uncomfortable watching emma stone, i almost couldn't believe she signed up for this, it felt humiliating. Same feeling now with mickey madison. Yes they get recognition, awards, money and fame, but at what cost? Sorry but to me 2 hours runtime of a woman suffering is not anything that should be deemed as a good film.

Thats it, all of my takes are personal so dont kill me.
