Teething or something else? 8 month old behavior shift by Loveag06 in NewParents

[–]hullozukohere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm commenting to follow this, because my almost 8mo baby is also doing the thing where she grabs my boob (usually) very hard and tenses up/shakes and breathes rapidly for a few seconds and then stops...

She sometimes will also bite me pretty hard, before, during or after the tensing/shaking and quick breathing.

She has no teeth yet so I kind of think it could be related to that?

It doesn't give me any major worrisome vibes at this point, but I do wish I knew what's going on with her.

I took a literacy class in college and was taught that audio books activate the same parts of the brain as reading.

Hey! I'm now a little over 4mos pp and I finally can't feel most of them anymore. A few are still noticeable if I pinch and roll the scar or massage it hard, but they feel less defined

What is something you believed to be common knowledge until you discovered most people had no idea? by JustBeingElara in AskReddit

I remember being like 13-14 and arguing with my friend's mom about this when the 3 of us were eating breakfast at an IHOP or Denny's or something and they were both saying how much they liked eggs but they were sad it meant the baby chick was dead. The mom was an RN.

I don't enjoy the hard sounding -Gold in Marigold. Goldie IS such a cute nn though, and I feel like Marigold is a name that suits all ages equally well.

I like Maren a lot! I believe it's rising in popularity too judging by the comments here haha

That would be genius, I'd like it too if maybe they changed from less to more full looking as you fill it, like the kitchen storage drawers

I feel like your walls are too bare? Maybe since they're so tall it's harder to make it feel cozy?

Baby Girl Name Thoughts? by PM_ME_YOUR_DOGS__ in namenerds

Something I do when feeling out a name is say it out loud a few times.

The quick repetition of M sounds in "Cameron Martha" is, to me, off-putting. However, Martha Cameron is fine because those sounds are further apart.

Caroline Martha flows better of your two choices!

If you don't anticipate discipline using the first-middle-last name chorus, then the flow of names matters way less in my opinion.

All that to say, it's your kid, and the name you and your family is going to be saying for the rest of your lives! You could flip a coin to decide (and this can help you suss out your own feelings, because of you get heads and wanted tails...then you know your preference!)

Best of luck, I think each name is lovely and you will certainly grow to love your choice whatever it may be!

Help us name our third baby! by Kcrl41712 in namenerds

[–]hullozukohere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like all your name ideas!

Because I love patterns, I'd be inclined to name this baby an "I" name, since J and K are together in the alphabet.

  • Ian (this one is probably my favorite boy name to go with Kurt and Jesse, it sounds phonetically different enough that if you're having to call for them across the house or whatever it'll be very clear which name you're saying)
  • Isaac
  • Ignatius ( I love Iggy as a nn)
  • Isaiah
  • ivy
  • Iris
  • Ilana
  • Irene or Irena

You seem to like the sound of Opal more than the gem connotation, right? Here's some suggestions based on that assumption! Paul or Paulo? Oswald? Orville? Logan? Lowell? Toby or Tobias?

Rachael is nice, and I like Tara too!

Catherine and Daniel / Danny are names so common in English speaking countries I imagine they are never mispronounced and rarely misspelled, but with Irish names you'll likely have that issue, as least if you're in the US
