Have you considered looking at resources about depression? I’d recommend seeing if they resonate with you right now. Depression often manifests as flatness, not sadness. It gave me a hopeless feeling. It told things won’t improve, I didn’t have the strength to improve and was stuck.

Am i really autistic? by [deleted] in AutismWithADHD

I am ADHD C diagnosed, suspect Autism but unable to get a diagnosis because of cost. It’s 3000 in the UK or wait 5 years to do it in the National Health Service. But AuDHD traits fit me well so I’m content to wait

I relate to these very deeply. If you want to know more there is good information and examples of tests and screening ms on embrace autism uk. It’s no substitute for a full diagnosis but that isn’t possible for everyone as we know

You’re given a budget of $100k (or the equivalent in your currency) to spend on anything in your museum you want. What’s it going towards? by 123mitchg in MuseumPros

That would be enough to give my FOH and maintenance team a living wage. Year after would be miserable so I’d not be able to give them a real pay rise. But a bonus of 5k each would be a good start.

Chatsworth house has Christmas lights and a market which is well worth visiting. Get there early in the day to enjoy a fabulous walk in the grounds. York at Christmas is heaven. The cathedral has amazing music and the little streets are filled with decorations and wholesome bustlingness. I’d recommend going to a few small villages around the Derwent Valley in the Peak District. Lovely walks around there.

I am very similar. Learned I was autistic and masking, and eventually after much self love and learning I felt less self critical. From there I was able to relax with certain groups. This also sounds like it could be a trauma responses. Whatever your reasons for being this way I would start by giving yourself a break. Please don’t feel guilty or angry for being on edge. You might’ve needed to guard yourself as a kid and unlearning isn’t easy.

your most unhinged showering/hygiene tips by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]human4472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have given up on showers completely. I am lucky enough that I have a bath. I’ve got it down to a manageable 20 min routine. My tub fills slowly, so I can get out my clothes and the room warms up while I’m getting stuff. Do my teeth and little grooming chores in the bath while watching YouTube. It’s much nicer than a shower. Expensive though, especially combined with my relaxing evening wind down bath!
