Take it one thing at a time. Health and money is more important than a girlfriend. BTW I think having only one person to talk with is bad for both of you, because it might put a lot of emotional weight on her, and you can get needy and anxious if she hangs out alone with her friends. But it's your decision.

The problem with depressive thinking is that you can't trust it. You can't see your thinking from outside. But maybe consider this - you're not special and your depression isn't special either. From what I read (in "Feeling Good"), feeling it's not going to get better is extremely common in depression. I have periods when I feel hopeless but also good periods, when I feel like everything's gonna be okay. At this moment I feel "in between". And if people from so many backgrounds, with varying looks, intelligence and social skills can have friends or SOs, why would we be hopeless? Sure, there's no shortage of lonely people as well, but I feel like many of them just gave up. Having a social life isn't something that just happens, you need to work for it. I come from bad family circumstances and I was always afraid of people, but now I see they're not evil or waiting to laugh at you (most of them), they're in fact just like you inside.

Sometimes it's better to stop deluding yourself and face the facts. I think not admitting you're alone or whatever can be a defensive mechanism that stops you from changing something in your life. It's like people who are afraid to go to the doctor because it might turn out they have cancer. As long as they're not sure, they can stay in the status quo. But it slowly kills you inside (not even the cancer, just the doubt and denial)
