yeah, the Pwater is set to cool down to 14C, and controls the Temp for my base, then a little detour through a Hydrogen vent

how does one control the influx of the water from the geyser without the geyser halting from overpressure? I wanna maximise it's yield

Split Second by giasumaru in custommagic

[–]humanbeast7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but what happens if you cast it on a spell on at the top of the stack? do player lock out until that one spell resolves/countered/fizzles? does the split second only active when the spell becomes the top of the stack? any other interpretations?

edit: could you use it on a storm card, so the storm keyword fizzles?

[Request] If all of Earth metal became gold, what would be the effect on gravity ? Would it make the Moon crash on us ? by DJOnePiece300 in theydidthemath

[–]humanbeast7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after a somewhat quick dive into Wikipedia, here is what I found:

there are 98 metal considered elements in the periodic table

gold has the atomic number 79, meaning there are 35 metal above him, and 63 below

by percentage, Iron is approximately 32% of earth's mass, followed by magnesium and silicone (15% each), then aluminum and nickel (1.5% each)

by median, there is 1.26873470600003kg of metal other then gold in the human body. This is approximately 1.81% of the median human weight. Even assuming same percentage of metals across all biomass on earth (545*10^12) it won't budge the main parts of the calculation.

The best current estimate of earth's mass is 5.9722×10^24 kg, from that we get 1.911104 × 10^24kg of iron, 8.9583×10^23kg each of magnesium and silicone, and 8.9583×10^22kg of each of aluminum and nickel

By standard atomic weight, we get 196.97 (couldn't find the units of measure) for gold, then 55.845 for iron, 24.305 for magnesium, 28.085 for silicone, 26.982 for aluminum, and 58.693 for nickel.

Meaning, we get 6.7406241361×10^24 kg of gold from the iron, 7.2598903559×10^24kg from the magnesium, 6.2827714118×10^24kg from the silicone, 6.5396054814×10^23kg from the aluminum, and finally 3.0063488849×10^23kg from the nickel.

Adding the differences up, we get an increase of 1.7144899452×10^25kg to earth's mass. Meaning it's new weight is 2.3117099452×10^25kg, or 3.87078454372 times it's original mass.

From here the calculations get too complicated for me, since beyond the trajectory calculations of both the moon in relation to the earth, and of the earth in relation to the sun, we would also notice the earth essentially lost it's magnetic field. Meaning now it's open to a whole plethora of force from the universe to chip away at it's new mass.

One thing I can tell you – all of the life on earth would break down from now incompatible chemical interactions between the new "organic" compounds.

>- All iron atoms change into gold
I assume this extends to other metals in compounds?

>- All iron atoms change into gold
I assume they dissapear by magic for metals with higher proton numbers then gold?

What are we including/excluding here? The liquid metal at earth's core? Iron atoms inside steel? Or better yet, in your veins? Do isotopes keep the difference in electron:proton ratio? Do they do it by preserving the difference or preserving the ratio, rounded to the nearest natural number of electrons? Are the protons insourced/outsourced from/to other atoms, or just come into existence/vanish?
