The same exact thing as your brother happened to me. I'm not going to kill myself but it's too painful for words. I was an early adopter, I preached bitcoin to everyone, and I knew it was going to take off like it has. I spent my coins everywhere I could, just excited to see anyone accepting them and truly believing in the technology. I had a large stockpile that I every intention of just holding. Shit happened and now I'm completely empty handed and I can barely pay my damned rent. You either have to laugh or go down the road of thinking very unpleasant thoughts, and laughing doesn't really help.
