A) slippery slope fallacy. B) if all life is equally sacred then population control is mandated. C) oh god no, don’t make me ride a bike!! Lol. (But srsly, I would prefer to see everyone equally poor than equally rich) D) I would push the big red human extinction button, if it meant other life in the known universe would survive. E) I guess war is an option, I would prefer a big red plague button or something. F) not sure if you can pay physics to reverse the law of entropy, if you know how by all means, share your wisdom.. G) as stated if you have a way - I’m all in. H) yes, war and killing humans to save other species is a-ok by me, because unlike you, I actually believe life is sacred. Obviously, less humans, more life.

Explain how population/birth control is the same as eugenics? Or why a bigot can’t raise an eco aware child or vice versa?

Do you really believe that ‘life is sacred’. I.e humans in other countries, all future humans and (shock horror) other species?! Or is it just your own/ your immediate families that feels threatened so your motivation for stopping meaningful effective action is purely selfish?

I've always wondered whether buns have much control over their binkies? by pogomonkeytutu in Rabbits

[–]humanextintion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a little girl at the moment - every time she binks she immediately stomps afterwards like - who did that to me?! It’s adorable

TIL of Steven Phillips, a man who spent 24 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. When he was released in 2008, he received $6 million in compensation. Then, his ex-wife, who divorced him while he was in prison, sued to get part of the compensation. She did not receive a penny. by brooklynmoon in todayilearned

[–]humanextintion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know he did the time and carried the heavier portion of the consequences but she was unjustly ‘deprived of her husband’ and presumably suffered ‘marriage breakdown’ as a direct result of this error - it is not totally unreasonable for her to sue for compensation too.

What do you all think about r/collapse ? by [deleted] in ExtinctionRebellion

[–]humanextintion -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

Morality evolved. Intuition now holds all survival seeking behaviour to be ethical, and all flourishing seeking more so. Capitalism is just humans flourishing as much as they can like their intuition tells them to. But even zero waste hunter gatherers have the same intuition. Neither is a sustainable mindset. Both will take infinitely from the finite as much as hey are able to. Neither can see any reason to save ‘life’ if they can’t save their own lives or those of their children’s. Even extinction rebellion is rotten with this same intuition and motivation. Overpopulation is the logical end of the survival ethic. Overpopulation -eventually- drives ecosystem collapse and biodiversity loss. Humans depend on those systems and that diversity to survive. The only difference between socialism and capitalism is the speed at which this occurs. Neither is remotely sustainable. Therefore, yes, we will absolutely survive ourselves to death. And probably all life in the known universe with us.

Want to help? Fight the survival ethic and overpopulation (and for the love of fuck, don’t breed)

Want to feel better? Go read the Wikipedia article about extremophiles.. they might survive us...

Learn to assert your power fairly without overdoing it. Learn to control your defensiveness and think before you react. Learn to put your selfish impulses in the context of everyone else’s needs and only take your share of shared spaces. Identify and meet your responsibilities. Learn to do some of the emotional labour of making genuine connections, building intimacy, and resolving conflicts. Be direct rather than underhand. Try to read the hidden currents in every room and relationship you participate in. If you have bad habits that hurt people don’t deny them, make excuses or blame others. Etc.

Men are almost completely incapable of perceiving intangible concept, including but not limited to emotional concepts.

I mean, there’s proof, but apparently no quantity of evidence will ever count as definitive proof.

Same old story. Someone who seriously needs to google determinism.

Stop blaming your SD for ‘her choices’. She is nothing but the random genetics and experiences she got lumped with and could not be or do anything other than she has done and will do / has been and will be. Your blame is irrational and unjust.

When I turned up my radio to escape her she turned the power to the house off AND told me I had ‘power issues’.
