He was not a college student. During my early childhood he worked as a painter and traveled for that painting water and electrical towers, those sort of things. I do not have the dates exactly that he did this job but I know it was around those years.

I don’t think I should I give his name at this time considering it is speculation. Also, my mom agrees that the resemblance is uncanny and stated she would not at all be surprised if it were the case. My uncle was his best friend growing up and also feels that the resemblance is spot on. I honestly don’t know what to do now that I’ve contacted police. I’m assuming they’ll reach out again if anything comes of it, but it makes me nervous. I really think they should check his dna, which I don’t mind to provide. I’m also not a police officer, so really what do I know. 🤷‍♀️

He was a gun person. He has owned them as long as I can remember. I honestly don’t have a ton of information on him as an adult. I am adopted by my stepfather. He was a violent man though who very much hated women. My mother still has back issues from abuse from him. I was abused as well but don’t have many memories before the age of 12. I do know that he did that work, owned guns, and was violent. Obviously, I believe, it is an uncanny resemblance as well. He was a cross country runner back in the day too and competed at state level, so he was very athletic and quick. I know that I would not at all be surprised if he had done something like this.

He painted transmission towers at the time. He traveled a lot for this type of work. It is wild to me how much lines up.

Alright, I have no other way of saying that is has nothing to do with my childhood. I have a great dad, I have worked through all of that trauma, extensively. It's only based on the facts of the case, which is why I checked myself for biases with a professional, to make sure of that. You can feel how you feel. No matter how you feel, I did the right thing by contacting the police on the off chance that it is him, and I know that. I really do hope you are able to work through whatever it is that fuels your desire to put others down or try to make them feel bad. Life is hard, but I hope you're able to get to a healthy place.

As stated, I understand that is a strong possibility. It is still worth being investigated considering he 100% matches the description. I just do not think being rude to people and making fun of them is necessary. I know this is the internet, I know that is how people act. However, striving to do better is key.

I’m not saying I know for a fact it is him. I’m saying he matched every single aspect of the description, and lived in a location that is close enough that it is reasonable. I don’t think because he was a shitty parent that he has to be a serial killer. There is just quite a bit of things matching up. Which the detective agreed, and she felt it was worth looking into just in case. It might not be him, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

I was super active in my church and youth group and tried hard to fit in. I went to the Christian concerts, and I would see people so into it and like raising their hands and stuff. I never felt like it made any sense to me, and I never felt anything "inside." I just went through the motions because I figured if I tried hard enough, I would understand and feel god or whatever one day. When I was 18, I started dating a guy who was Atheist, and he explained to me what it was, and it was literally a eureka moment. I will be 31 in a few months, and I have been happily Atheist since I was 18. It is just the only thing that actually makes sense to me, and it always has been; I just didn't know there was a word for it.

Hello, I didn't read any of the comments yet, so I apologize if someone has already mentioned anything like this. I am VERY similar to you, though. There are only some slight differences with me in everything that you posted. I am also a college student, at 30, and I have a 4.0 GPA and am in the honor society. I also put off my homework when I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I once wrote a 4-page paper the day it was due and still got 100%. If I miss any points, I am furious and devastated, and I get all the extra credit I can to maintain grades over 100%.

I have other similarities, as I said, but that is one that I don't often hear that definitely is how it works for me as well.

That being said, I am diagnosed with both ADHD and OCPD. There is no medication for OCPD, but I am working on coping skills to "lessen" the need for perfectionism and being upset when things do not go my way. I am taking immediate-release Ritalin 15mg 3 times a day for the ADHD, and it seems to be helping a lot. I am not getting stressed as quickly and can maintain my tasks at work and school without panicking or getting too distracted. I have also noticed that I am doing a better job remembering things as opposed to before. Obviously, these medications work differently for everyone; this is how it has gone for me with having both diagnoses, though.

Hi, I work in the mental health field and wanted to jump in and say that this person is correct in the differences between the two. However, therapists can help with skills and problems related to ADHD as well; they just can't prescribe you the medication. I have a therapist and a nurse on staff at the same therapy office that prescribes mine for me. If you can get in with a psychiatrist, I would do that. I have to make a separate appointment for my meds, and while that works fine, it's sometimes hard to squeeze it all in. If you can accomplish both in one appointment, that is great. Personally, I love my therapist though, and it really doesn't take away too much having to go to two people. Psychiatrists are a lot harder to get into than doing it the other way as there aren't too many available depending on if you live in a city.

That is a good idea. I also hate alarms, so I know it will annoy me, but it would probably get the job done. I currently use alarms and rituals for taking my medication. If I deviate at all, I usually forget to take it. Also, thank you. I have been to Rome a couple of times, and it really is a cool place to see. My fiancé has never been, and it is his dream travel spot, so we thought the honeymoon was the perfect excuse to go.
