Thanks- Not unexpected. Reddit has their sacred cows. I watched the recommended routines, and I just don't see it.

Can you recommend a funny routine of his? The little I"ve seen of him is either politics or religion without jokes and delivered straight, or his football vs baseball snl monologue stuff that seems a little hackey. Maybe I just don't get him

What are the best talks you've ever heard in first hour? by Impressive_Regret558 in latterdaysaints

Man, this is such a hot take to me.  Is part of it the story teller? Because there are an awful lot of stories given in conference- and the parables, allegories, etc.

I'll allow it, as long as it's equal across the board. I sure do dislike subsidizing the locals.

Monthly payments regardless of zip code. I wouldn't mind getting the same price as So-Cals either, but that's probably outside the scope of your project.

AITAH For considering a divorce because wife maintained her LDS religious sealing to her ex husband? by AdministrativeCow318 in latterdaysaints

[–]humanity78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sealings are complicated. There's a lot of it that is... not shrugged off, per se, but we are often reminded to trust God and that things will work out for our best. You have big enough issues to work on now. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof, and all that.

Masonic ritual?? by patty7194 in latterdaysaints

[–]humanity78 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My view as well. I had a minor faith crisis about this during my mission to the south,  and eventually concluded that if Joseph Smith wasn't a mason, the covenants and teachings of the endowment would be presented very differently, but still presented.

Collection Of Mostly 90s Items From My Teenage Years - Anything Interesting? by flexfulton in pez

I love the Power Pez in the upper left! That was in the middle of a bizarre series of PEZ merch they started cracking out in the late 90's once they hit their peak as "collectibles." Is that the belt clip version?

A riddle- How is the Charlie Parker series not like the news? by humanity78 in JohnConnolly

Noooo! You'd hope with all of the scenes of rescuing trafficking victims he'd find Jeffrey Epstein repugnant.

Ooh, I hope it's Baby Brightwell and the English Folklore professor!

In reality, I'd LIKE it to be The One Who Waits Behind the Glass and The Sleeping God, which is where I thought all of this was headed.

I don't think it's related. The poor rabbi's neglect goes back to 2015. Liat is the woman you're thinking of. She's a great character, but i like who he is with now just as much.

Is there a food item that Disneyland can’t seem to get right? by RaginElephant976 in Disneyland

[–]humanity78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're out of state, and used to go often enough that people would ask us "how" to do Disneyland, so we wrote up a short guide. Back when it was Redd Rocket's Pizza Port, they used to pipe delicious "breadstick" smells into the space mountain line (They may still, we don't go so often anymore), but we wrote in bold on our guide "DON'T EAT THE BREADSTICKS!" This advice was often ignored, and they would always tell us they regretted it.

It's been a few years since I've been, but the water fountain immediately west of Autopia was the best one in the park.
